I really want to see this gorilla, would be awesome. She knows like 1000 ways to sign to say stuff, and is clearly capable of thought on the level of a young human (maybe a child):

Are you just finding out about this, or just spreading it around now because it's still cool?

I knew there was a gorilla that could do this, but I didn't know her name and had never seen videos of her before.

She's not actually capable of thought on the level of a human because she is not capable of symbolic thought.

It's essentially the ability to see something and understand that it means something else - think nonsimple math, an alphabet, or conversation. Humans are the only species on earth to be capable of symbolic thought. With koko, she's not actually truly using the language, or at least in its symbolic capacity - she's just being manually trained, like a dog would, to make the connections.

"conditioned"
but i'm sure there is way more going on in the mind of that gorilla than a conditioned dog, or really any other animal. but i haven't looked into it at all.

I think the whole emotion thing is cool though. The fact that the gorilla is sad/frustrated and frowns when the woman doesn't understand her.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's not cool. It's still pretty impressive.

I don't know why, I just never imagined any animals having some sort of cognitive thought. I just thought they had only instincts and basic emotions.
