Billions of other fucking game commentators get barely any views, and rightly so. Put some fucking effort into your content. And don't say "well the public is stupid". Yes, that's what I hate. And I hate that they hoist others to undeserved status.
Agreed. It pisses me off to see a bunch of talented, hard-working artists, animators, musicians, writers, etc. get passed over while someone who plays video games and spends maybe 2 hours a day of editing and filming gets nearly a million views a day. What makes me even more worried is the message that's sent to potential creative types: the message that says, "Hey! Why the fuck do you bother working hard on your art when you can yell at a camera for a half an hour a day and get triple the reward for it?"
I'm really hoping the whole "Let's Play" thing is just an Internet fad that will pass in a couple years when people get bored of
watching people play video games and actually go
play them.
@MoH: Giving money to charity doesn't have anything to do with undeserved success. And of course he'd thank his fans every Friday - he's getting a shit ton of views from them, not to mention a very sizable amount of ad money. I'd be thanking them too.
