The reason why there are so many clans is because some of the 12 year olds still don't get the fact that if you suck at animating, you have horrible grammar, and you don't know anyone in the forum, you don't get any members.
it seems that our forum members are getting worse and worse.

In my own opinion many people make clans mainly because they wanna be the most powerful person on SP, usually thinking clans will make them popular and recognized. But in the end it ends up a bust because they're fairy new and no one even knows who they are. And in the end the mods don't delete it and just leave it be (like many have stated)

Maybe we need some kind of system that will delete a dead clan or something (if that's even possible)

We never had a problem with this over at Fluidanims. :P Hahaha, partially cause there was more activity with members. I think that may have something to do that. Plus EVERYONE wants to have a clan... Especially the n00bies to animation who really don't need to be leading a clan. I see clans as a way to help a group advance and improve in animation. So, shouldn't WE more experienced animators be the only ones running a clan so we can pass down our knowledge to newer members? idk... that's just how I see it and how my clan is set up.

Yes exactly n8 if youre new, and stuck in a clan full of other people that only have about the same amount of experience as you do, how do you expect to get proper cnc? Or tips on what to change and why, or tricks or shortcuts to animating some certain aspect? You cant, because they dont know it. And im not saying its completely IMPOSSIBLE to improve in a noob clan, but its really not the best place to be if you want to improve quickly.
When i first started animating, i joined Limbo, which was full of animators MUCH better than i was, and maybe i was just lucky, but yeah, that helped me improve a lot in a very short amount of time because of the great cnc they would give on what i needed to improve

^Exactly this.
Legend started out with annexed members with different skill sets; Over time members came and went, but we all learned something from each other.
Micro taught me some pretty cool executions, bakon taught me spacing, Rosie taught me perseverance, etc; And in turn, my clanmates learned something from me.
That's what clans are about (Or should be), everyone with a different skill set teaching each other and helping each other grow. When there's no more to teach you could be zeta which stayed for the longest, or velox which split.
That's what these 12 year olds are missing, and probably won't get it until they take realization and say to themselves "What. am. I. Doing?"
And that's why these clans are piling up, one after another.

Exactly. I was a part of Velox for a while. It was nice, since Terkoiz was in there, but I didn't want in because HE was. I wanted in because it was full of advanced animators and I wanted desperately to learn. After that clan died... I essentially "died" too. Not literally... lol. But, I gave up on animation and left. (For almost a year) Not because it died, but because I wasn't learning or didn't feel like I was improving. Clans should be crucial to self improvement and should challenge the animator to improve with weekly animations, collabs, and clans. Constantly practicing and working toward a goal. Improvement. And It's not completely impossible, but pretty dang close for a group of n00bs to improve. Haha... I mean. How can they give advice when they need it. Or C&C if they don't know what's wrong. :/ You know? Idk... I wish I had more members. I'm trying to get some average-ly experienced members so I can pass down some knowledge and know-how to them. But not to be rude , I don't want to be a clan full of new guys. But a few alongside some more experienced animators is how I feel it should go. I want everyone to work together as a team and help each-other improve. Not just be in a clan because it's a SP Status-Symbol. :P

Edit:
I agree with the statement above too.

Not what i was saying jombo, although its not really surprising that you took it that way since i didnt really elaborate on anything in that post. What i meant by that being part of the problem is that yeah, you can just make a clan for the sake of making a clan or "having fun" but in the end it doesnt accomplish anything really, and most of the new animators who make these clans end up leaving the community and their clans die because they just "werent improving"

Aaaaaand what's the problem with that?

Like I said, when a clan dies, they should be dumped. Someone should be doing it, idk where or who that person is. I sometimes get requests for clans to be dumped, and I do it.

Well, i mean, i think anyone aspiring to be good at something should take appropriate steps to get there, and i dont like seeing some of these aspiring animators leave the community really i guess...
i dont think i had a real point now that i think about it

I think it's better if there's a limit on how many clans could one section hold. That way once the limit is reached, people would have to tryout to other open clans instead of making one cuz there's no more room for another clan, unless one clan is dead and you can take its place.

For example: limit for all sections; North, South, East, West, all will be 10 clans maximum. If all are full, you can't make a clan, therefore, you must tryout for one until one clan dies.
