Simple question...
Any way to convert a MIDI file into a Wav or MP3 in Audacity or any other free sound program?
I've tried exporting it as a Wav once I import the MIDI into audacity, but it doesn't seem to work. It makes .1 of a second of silence. MP3 didn't work either.
When I put in the MIDI file, I had to import it using Poroject> open Midi file, and it brought out this keyboardish sort of thing. I can't eve play it in audacity!!!
Help?
Midi?

A MIDI isn't a actual sound, its something thaty makes a sound play, kind of like a keyboard.

There has to be some way that some thing can play and record mids and perhaps record or convert them to audio. Otherwise everything on the entire site vgmusic is completely useless!

Google search: midi to mp3
This one looks decent:
Direct-MIDI-to-MP3-Converter
I don't know why it's listed as a 30-day trial, but it's free on their site:

That wouldn't soudn like the original midi and would be an overly complicated way.

Personally I use MIDI Converter Studio on maniactools.com. It's not free but there is a basic freeware version for 30 days floating around somewhere. A file 5 minutes long it converts in 15 seconds! It saves my time significantly.
