Should I download garrys mod?
Right now, Im not so sure. It has an incredible file size plus I dont know anything on how to use it. I just want to try it out since everybody at my school says its fun.

Wrong.
It's a mod for, not half-life modified. It's nearly a game all on it's own but runs off the source engine which is why you need a source game to run it.
