Animating Since Mid 2007.

Mid 2007:
As a young boy at the age of 13, I used YouTube religiously. I was always on there watching stupid videos and what not. Then I stumbled across this animation series "Stick Figures On Crack" by PivotmasterDX. I thought it was the COOLEST thing ever and later found "Xaio Xaio" and some of those kind of videos and wondered... How do you do that? I wanna make these videos. So, being the creative person I am... lol ...I opened up MSPaint and drew EACH frame and sped it up really fast in Windows Movie Maker. (Ghetto right?) Here's my first animation EVER, made with MSPaint and WMM.

End of 2008:
Then a little over a year later I discovered a much much MUCH easier way to animate. PIVOT! I made several animations with pivot and got pretty good at the mechanics but then on YouTube I stumbled across a few different Flash animations. (I thought they were pivot... lol (Didn't know what Flash was.)) These animations where "Animator Vs. Animation" and "Shock". (This was 2008. Shock came out then, right? If not, I saw shock after Animator Vs. Animation) ANYWAY, then I went around allllll over YouTube, n00b spamming comment sections asking stuff like "wht pr0gr@m iz dat U uze?" and "W@ progrm does you anim8 wit?"... (Ah... the n00b years. lol Everyone's a n00b at some point.) Lol, got told it was "Flash" and then I discovered Flash MX. Really lame version, but it was all I knew. I tried it out and actually didn't like it that much. But this one and this one are two of my earlier flash animations I've ever done.

2009:
Then (after my trial went out... before I was a pirate. Yarr...) I went back to Pivot for quite some time, being a big part of the Droidz community for a little more than a year.

(We're in late 2009 early 2010 now)
That's when I discovered FA and had my first RHG, Samurai Bob. (Got Flash 8 Professional AND CS3, but never liked CS3, 8 Pro has been more animator friendly in my opinion. For brush sizes and what-not) Followed shortly by TRiAL. Used him to for a while. Then LUTHER :D (Animated Luther Vs. Abrax & Luther Vs. Woof) Took a year break (Everyone thought I died), came back for a few weeks, disappeared again for a little over 6 months. (Everyone thought I was dead... AGAIN)

Annnd... Now we're here. in 2012... Almost 2013.

(IT's a little rough, may not be 100% accurate on times/dates. My memory is dodgy, but that's REALLY close to what I can remember.)

What's YOUR animation origin?

Back when I was 13, I had a Flash animation class in middle school. I wasn't too shabby at it, but obviously it wasn't nearly close enough to be called "good". It was still fun though, and it was fun making dumb little cartoons.

My friend Brandon said, hey man, if you like that kind of stuff, you should check out Xiao Xiao. So I did, and it was frickin' sweet. I started looking into other animations, and found Failed Containment by Terkoiz. I thought, damn, this trumps everything. I also started going to Newgrounds and found movies like There She Is! that inspired me even more. I wanted to make awesome cartoons and stick animations like these people, but I never really had the time or balls to start.

I started practicing a little bit when I was 16, just for fun, but grew bored of it. I liked writing better, and I thought I wouldn't animate.

Now it's 2012, and I've been animated for real since June. I've made some real progress and I'm really proud of my work, and I can't wait to improve more, blah blah blah. So there it is.

I can go on writing about this, but ill keep it super short.
Started with Captain Underpants, if you guys know that book. There was this one section in the book called flip-o-ramas, in which you basically flipped to pages and two different drawings on two pages created some sort of animation. From that moment i began doing the same, until i ended up making full length flip books. As i grew older and discovered the internet, i found out about pivot and things went from there, until i found easytoon, which i downloaded as soon as i found it. Then i joined an animation group in youtube called Deadzone, and grew stronger. Eventually i came across eddsworld (rip edd gould) and my brother got me flash after seeing me getting so obsessed with it. So i began looking up flash anims on youtube and found Phil, which guided me to fluidanims, and now stickpage. Today i remain inactive, hoping that eventually my creativity will spark and i will come up with something...

In 2008 I had a "Communication Technology" class in high school and my friends and I would dick around on the computers. It didn't take us long to discover Flash, and that's when I started making stick figure fights. Toward the end of high school, some time in early 2010, I wondered if there were other people in the world who made stick figure battles. I checked Youtube and saw someone whose alias was "loginatu2" and his stick figure animations blew my mind. I decided that I had to reach his level of skill, so I began by watching his tutorials but they didn't cover much content. Frustrated, I looked for more tutorials and came across Hyun's. After watching some of his Youtube stuff I found my way over to Fluidanims in April 2010 and that's when shit got real.

My main inspiration stems from LF2's narrative, Platinum's line tool usage, Terkoiz's overall skill, and Strifey's incredibly cool style.

I started animating because I had nothing else to do. My gpu had died on me. That was a long time ago.

After not having internet for about, 4-5 years, 3 yrs ago my parents decided to get it. I Youtubed like a bitch. My dickhead friend told me he was Tman and Frozenphoenix, and I foolishly believed him, I came here.

I got pivot.

Tried flash.

Fuck flash.

I bitched.

I whined

I met index/brian c and muffin head and other friendly folks.

Had some fucking awesome laughs and shit.

Now I only animate in pivot every once in awhile for the shitz'n'gigglez, I draw more and wish to draw fullbodies in flash. But that is impossible, because flash is a whore to me all the time. I think I made an RHG but never posted him, I think. I'm more active on wtfteam now and rarely visit stickpage.

I was going around youtube shitting on everything, being a douche, and fucking with other people, then once in school in ICT class teacher told me of a porngram called pivot (such a basic program it is).

THEN I FOUND IT

ANIMATED

Made my first animation, looked at it, it looked like shit but i thought it was epic. Although i kept on being a douchebag looking at other people's work - i finally found it, Hyun's one versus maneh. It was so badass comparing my pivot shit to that was unbearable, i asked my dad for flash - got it. AND AWWWW YEAAAAAA FUN.

(although my old anims are worthless shit)

2008- began watching pivot videos such as stick figures on crack, stick them down, etc in which I wanted to do as well. I decided to get pivot (but never did because I lost intrest in actually animating seeing how much hard work it was) so instead I just continued to watch.

2010- 2 years since I thought of animating I would come to stickpage very often as I lost intrest in the YouTube pivot videos, That is we're I find endo's animation "chuck vs alfa" after watching it I remember me wanting to animate and knowing that this wasn't pivot, I decided to try and make something like that (this is we're I find flash via FA) it was then I watched some tutorials and stuff to get me going as we'll as other animations (beard ninja, shock series, xiao xiao, slush invaders)

And here I am now

I came to know stickmen near the end of 2009 (youtube) by watching the most famous videos of that time

when I first came across stick animations was in the 2010 by tiping on google stickmen (and stickpage came out). After half year on stickpage, I discovered Fluidanims, where everyday I went to watch new videos 8together with stickpage)

In 2011, 1 month after the 4 day (yes, this is my first 4 day), I decided to finally join the community and then started animating (after that, I came here with the merge)

I'm 15 right now so I'm telling that now because I don't quite remember all the details on how I started animating...

2004
When I was 7, I was going through Stickpage and stuff, watching the war animations and such. [ Yeah, them war animations were beast! :O ] I was so into war at the time and in my head, I always thought, "How the hell did they make them!?". I was looking through Google just to find what it was. I didn't find pivot, but Flash. At this time, I didn't really know how to pirate or didn't know you can have a trial and such. I didn't know what to do, so I didn't really start animating at this time.

2009
At this time, I was in tech class in school. I was 12 at the time being so.... I was doing some flight simulators first, then film making, then onto CAD. On our last module we have to use, I chose animating! I was stupid enough to not know that this was the program that many people used to make those awesome animations. At first it was ridiculously hard! But thanks to Hyun's tutorials, I figured out the fundamentals. :3 But, the first program I actually used for animating was MSPaint, Bannedstory, and WMM. [ The video is on my old channel on Youtube, starcraft2marine223. ]

2010
Same thing as last year [ 2009 ], though I used animating module for the last 2 modules we had to use. Got really involved and that's when I created my first animation! [ On a tight schedule so I can't really put up a link to it. BUT, it's on my Youtube channel at Yunguy1. ]

2011
This is when I found FA. Built up my skills and learned a lot of stuff from you guys. :o

2012
Got Flash CS6, got a non-paid job as an animator, Advisor, and Assistant Animation Director for a tribute to Starcraft 2. [ lol ]

2013?
This is when I will be releasing the DOT Collaboration, some full lengths, and MAYBE.... maybe, get hired for a paid job as an animator by DHX Media.

hey n8!
when i was around 9 or 10 my dad was a bit of a technology fanatic! (we were pretty wealthy back then)
he had a huge set up of computers with multiple screens and expensive software. he knew i liked to draw comics so he showed me a program to animate on. i dont remember the name but i remember thinking it was way to advanced for a 9 year old boy that draws stick figure comics in his room. so i found pivot on my own and started with that.
2008 then on to easytoon.
2009 then finally flash mx.
then somewhere from 2009 to 2010 i got into flash proffesional 8! i pirated mine too :D
i did animations on youtube ever since i started animating. (my channel)
shortly after that, i joined fluidanims after seeing some rhgs and stuff on youtube! but it got shut down :(
i thought i had never been to stickpage.com til then. but when i saw the homepage i realized ive been playing games on it for a while!

anyways, i got settled in and have been animating here ever since!
