---Vex---
>>>Name: Vex
>>>Title: Pulse Magistrate
Spoiler (Click to Show)
While the external effect is no more than a strong shove or (when concentrated) a forceful blow to the body, coming into direct contact with Vex can allow him to send his pulses directly into the opponent's body, severely damaging internal organs. The force of the blasts weaken considerably as it travels. Within 5 feet of Vex, the pulse has the ability to throw cars. However, as it gets further from his body, the pulse spreads, mitigating it's power considerably. After 30 feet, the force stops weakening, but it exists as a light punch.
His Sword allows a noteworthy extension of his pulse abilities. Upon wielding his sword, pulses sent out by the hand which wields the sword leave as if they were shadows of the sword. Through this, he can cut objects up to 75 meters (roughly) away. The power of the slice, however, doesn't decrease in power the farther it goes. As a result, it does travel much slower than, say, his punches. It is also visible as it travels towards the enemy. (It's still fast, though. Think of it as a car travelling down a freeway, only razor sharp instead of blunt.) The strength of the cut is just a little weaker than the strength he swung his sword.
Additional "moves":
For a brief moment, he can reverberate the pulses in the sword, making his blade shake/vibrate violently. Flesh and metals become significantly easier to cut.
Most importantly, His abilities can be amplified by outside sources that have a rhythmic beat of some sort, such as music. He can synchronize his pulses with said beat to send out even stronger versions of his attacks. The more powerful the beat is, the stronger he can emit his pulse wave.
>>>Fighting Style: Vex is very skilled both in hand-to-hand combat and close combat. His primary fighting style is a mix of Tai Chi and Xing Yi Quan. All of Vex's attacks are based off of rhythm. This is important. He usually uses his own heartbeat as an amplifier to use his pulses. As a result, his heartbeat steadily increases, furthering his own frequency of using pulses. This tends to be a double edged sword, because it could throw him into cardiac arrest. He is very dependent upon his weapon because of the range and lethality. He attacks gracefully and on rhythm, allowing him to reap the most benefits from his strikes.

His most fatal flaw would be the amount of investment he has in offense. The only defense is offense for him, using his sword to keep enemies away. Once he gets tired, he can be completely vulnerable to attacks both up close and far away.

>>>Personality: While Vex is a loving and carefree guy, something clicks when he's in a conflict. While maintaining the carefree appearance, his silly behaviors suddenly become focused and precise. He loves making friends and maintaining peace. However, when a conflict arises that he knows he cannot avoid, he tends to try to end it as quickly as possible. He loves music.
>>>Backstory: Vex grew up in a nice, moderately sized house. His father was the chief of the police force, and his mother was a merchant who sold many goods in the market. He grew up in awe of the bravery of his father, and admiring his mother's abilities to barter. However, one unfortunate event occurred which shaped his life. Not a death, not a fire, but a scandal. A scandal against his mother. A client had pulled some strings, creating false evidence that she was responsible for illegal production of goods. His father couldn't do anything about it. He didn't have enough evidence to bring the criminal scum into the court for a fair trial. Taking matters into his own hands, at age 8, Vex took his father's trusty pulse pistol, and tracked down the man.
He found him, but what happened next was impossible to remember for him. As Vex aimed the pistol and fired, he saw a bright blue burst as the pistol backfired, sending a radioactive (yes, radioactive. Time for more superhero stories) pulse into his body.
Upon waking up, Vex couldn't remember what he had tried to do. He realized that his father and mother have been proclaimed as guilty of raising a child who tried to kill "innocent people." He too, was under house arrest. However, something miraculous happened. A policeman, who was supposed to guard the house, came up to the kid. "I saw what you did." He said. "Pretty brave stuff...you tried to help your family...that's such a great thing to see. It actually gives me hope that there are people like you in our future." The policeman gave him a special sword. Yes, giving a child a weapon was a poor idea, but he had a lot of faith (and cheesiness) that Vex would help improve the world. "This sword, while it looks like a police sword, is actually modified to be super strong and flexible. Now, I'm gonna smuggle you outta here. You have to make it on your own."
From that day, Vex doesn't remember seeing his parents again. Although he wasn't too worried about it. He was confident they were safe. He too, was enthralled by the amount of justice the policeman showed. Vex vowed to be just like that. He traveled far away, using the sword as a "badge" to get enrolled into a police academy. Eventually, he grew to be the chief magistrate of a successful government.

"Sir, this is the subject who has refused to cooperate." The interrogator looked at his superior with seriousness and silent confusion. The man standing next to him, apparently, was supposed to be one of the finest officer the city had to offer. Yet, through of his casual wear (a clean button-down with khaki pants), slim frame, and standard issue police blade, the interrogator had trouble comprehending that this man was “leagues” above him. He had expected someone of, quite literally, harrowing heights, whose voice rumbled and quaked with authority and intimidation, decked out with all the high grade military gear.
But no. Here was this...ordinary, if not insulting appearance of an everyday policeman. "Really, eh?" Vex piped in with amusement. "You haven't tried...I don't know...giving him water?" He began to laugh at his suggestion, only to awkwardly retreat as he saw the interrogator’s incredulous stare. "What? I'm saying that if you give him water he might talk. You know, reverse psychology. Well, sort of."
"Sir, with all due respect, we aren't allowed to treat suspects who may be planning to overthrow our entire system with such...hospitalities. There are rules in place for this very reason." The Interrogator responded, stating his last sentence as if he had beaten his superior in reasoning.
"And who made those rules?"
"Why, the facility. We aren't the highest ranked stronghold for a reason." The Interrogator brimmed with confidence.
"Alright, and who gave you the ranks?"
"Sir, the government." The Interrogator replied cautiously, unsure where this was going.
"And where am I from?"
"The-" The Interrogator realized. "The government...sir."
"Exactly. I'm higher than those crummy desk-job subordinates who give ranks to prison cells. So I believe I have the right to overrule whatever 'lrules' you have in place. Besides, didn't you personally call me over to solve this issue of yours?"
This superior wasn't just for show, then. The Interrogator felt both surprised and humiliated, and quite possibly a full spectrum of other different emotions.
"My apologies, sir." The Interrogator bowed his head.
"Also, call me Vex. The name 'sir,' gets really boring." Vex replied. He paused in a moment of thought, then spoke again, "Actually, I wouldn't mind if you called me 'master,' or 'grand ruler of the universe,' or... you know, anything along those lines." Vex grinned.
"Y-yes....m...master." The Interrogator said with humiliation, jaws stiff and fists clenched. He couldn't refuse and risk the appearance of disrespecting a superior. He heard a few guards stifle their laughter, to which he responded with a quick glare.
"I'm kidding." Vex said, almost shamefully. "Seriously, have some pride."
"Well I'm sort of in an impasse here..." The Interrogator said grudgingly.
"That you are." Vex replied indifferently. "Now, make your lackeys get some water. Buckets of them, actually. I’ll need each drop of it."
**********************************
Vex stepped carefully and quietly into the Interrogation Chamber. The suspect was asleep, although Vex had no idea how being bound and blindfolded was in any way or form comfortable. Two buckets full of water swished carefully back and forth, almost tipping over their rims as Vex slowly approached this “dangerous” suspect. In one sudden motion, a wave of ice cold water went sailing into the suspect's poor unaware face.
"PTBFHLEEH" He yelled as he jolted awake. "What was that?! Who did that?! I'm not telling you any- Water?" the suspect caught himself as he realized the sweet cooling feeling of liquid. "Wait- no this can't be right. You poisoned it! You- it was acid! It was-"
“Plain, fresh water, son." Vex replied calmly. "Drink some up, you probably won't get anymore peacefully in this place." Vex took out his blade and cut the blindfold clean off as it fluttered to the ground with a lack of profound grace. The suspect's awed eyes showed more than Vex needed. "What- what are you doing? If you're going to kill me get on with it." The Suspect replied.
"One step at a time." Vex chuckled. "Now, let me ask you-"
"NO! I knew it! Of course! I won't tell you anything! They were using you to trick me!"
"your name?" Vex finished his sentence, looking at the suspect expectantly.
"M-my name?" It was obvious that the suspect was now struggling whether or not to trust this man.
"Come on now, if you're honest with me I won't have to do anything painful."
"..."
"That didn't work, I guess." Vex sighed.
"My...My name is Audrey."
"Audrey? That's a female name, right?" Vex raised his eyes in amusement. He couldn't tell that the suspect was a female due to her rasp voice, abused body, and rags that made anyone look like they were shoved into a bodybag. She might have been pretty close to such a state, anyways.
"Yes..." She replied wearily.
"Alright, drink up." Vex picked up one of the buckets and tilted it towards her mouth. After a few large gulps, he put the bucket down.
"Better?" Vex asked.
"Yes...thank you." Audrey replied, exhausted. Her voice was much more pronounced now.
"Now, I know you hate this, but I'm going to be frank with you-"
"Hate it? No, I love it here." She snapped back facetiously.
Vex ignored the sarcasm in her now defined, alto voice. "We need answers from you, and I prefer not to use my techniques to get answers."
"Oh please, I've gone through all of their 'torturing methods.' You won't break me."
Vex raised his eyebrows in interest. "Strong spirit. I'll honestly be sad to break it."
"No. I'm sorry, as much as I like you more than the rest of the scums here, I can't give myself away." Audrey replied, in a both sincere and hurt voice filled with hostility.
Vex thought for a moment. "Nothing will change your mind?"
"...no."
Vex looked dissapointed. "Well then, I can't say I didn't warn you..." He pressed his hand against her shoulder, almost sympathetically. Audrey yelped in surprise and pain as she felt an invasive wave of pressure blast through her whole body.
“What’s he doing?” The Interrogator asked irritatedly, staring intensely at the monitor of the Interrogation chamber. “It’s not getting anywhere.” He grunted with obvious displeasure. He turned away in disgust when he saw Vex feed her water. “Feh.”
“Wait, Sir,” One of the security guards who watched the security cameras all night took interest at the live camera after a brief pause. “I think he’s doing something...something with the bucket?”
“Can you get any sound from the room?”
“I-I’m trying.” The guard said, trying to please his superior. “But all I can get is this weird ringing sound.”
“What is he doing?” The interrogator now moved over, pouring his attention into the screen. For some reason, a large amount of static, something uncommon in such a high quality facility, interfered with the transmission of the picture. Vex appeared much larger than the Interrogator had originally seen. Something about his authority augmented his physical size. Vex stood with one hand on the suspect’s neck with her head in the water and the other holding the bucket of water. The suspect began to flail frantically as soon as her head was plunged in the bucket. “Didn’t we also do this? Why is this affecting her this time?” The interrogator asked, irritated.
Inside the torture room, the true nature of his actions came through better than the camera could comprehend. A low humming sound permeated the entire atmosphere, with the source seeming to originate between the bucket and Vex’s hand. Audrey writhed in panic, fear, and confusion as the water seemed to ripple violently in the bucket. Vex quickly lifted Audrey’s head out of the water. Her soaked face couldn’t really seem to comprehend what he was doing. She was struggling to breath as tears of pain poured out of her eyes. “Surprised?” Vex asked. “I can send vibrations through my body, and into objects. It hurts when it bounces around in that body of water, doesn’t it? Feels like you’re going to explode.”
Vex’s tone changed as he leaned into the fatigued Audrey. “The reason I’m with this job is because of what I can do with...pulses” Vex said quietly. “It’s not the notion of ‘justice’ I actually envisioned when I joined up here. I want to fight for...you know...actual reasons...sort of like what you guys do.” He paused for a brief second. “My father used to fight for an actual reason. The system isn’t like what it used to be.” Vex looked at her earnestly, and rose back up, almost on the threshold
