Try animating more frames inbetween your movements.
And then AFTER animating more frames if you still feel that some things are too fast try double framing movements that would naturally be slower than others

there isn't any perfect fps for beginners, it mostly up to what you prefer, try to experiment with different fps until you have found the one that fit your animation style

Just experiment until you find what's most comfortable for you.

Am i the only one who started with the default fps?

I started with 12

Then 18, then 24

Start with 24 it'd be complicated if you're a beginner, it's hard to understand the 24 fps, it requires a slower construction, and a lot of patience xD

I started at 30fps cuz I was a fuckin moron. 30fps is terrible for beginners, especially if you're not used to double-framing and still have trouble with smoothness, and I got really frustrated with doing it that way. I went down to 24fps, which works a lot better for me personally.

If you're a beginner, I'd say just bite the bullet and learn the 24fps way. It's the industry standard I believe, so if you plan on doing any animation in the future you'll most likely be working in that format.
