I really think your on to something here with your RHG.
Most of the RHGs here only have abilities that focus on offense opposed to defense. The only defense that most RHGs have are improved reflexes that allow them to dodge/block attacks, sometimes barriers or teleports (granted, your ability is kinda like a teleport but whatever), but thats about it. Sure abilities may be different for each stick, but most of them have the same method. Your RHG has a simple, but versatile ability that can go either offensive or defensive. It's like you put more thought on the application of your ability than of how cool it might look in a animation.

When I first decided to make a RHG, I had very clear in my mind what I wanted:
-I didn't want weapons. A character who uses weapons used less hand to hand hits and those are the ones I like.
-I wanted a defensive ability. I wanted mi RHG to be the underdog in every fight, so he has to work out how to beat his enemies, which are a offensive a lot stronger than himself.
-I wanted the ability to be easy to animate, because I knew that I would get tired of it eventually.
And, well, this came to my mind... and I really liked it. And people alse seem to like it, so cool. I won't change my RHG.
