Well i made my Rhg awhile back and couldnt find a good way to animate my RHG's Weapon/Power, Nanobots (RHG in my Sig) and thought i'd make a rushed demo just to start with until i made a good effect....

it's been a couple weeks now, and i cant really get any effects that would work, i need a way to animate movement of the nanobots (without having to copy-paste, redraw, or F6 (keyframe) each dot) or even animate the creation of things i make, so far all i could come up with is, Stipple and make the dot sizes Tiny, and re-drawing, as movement, although it's very annoying to animate that way, and just wanted to ask if anybody has any good ideas of how to animate it (I've asked a couple people, none gave me any solid answers, and i havent made any progress alone)

Also, i'm making a new demo (I'm changing the colour of my Rhg and Nanobots) and i've started it, and well, Here it is >>>> http://www.fileize.com/view/c9f7f803-7b3/

p.s i've changed the dialogue (it seemed stupid) and i've done a lot more (havent draw the reacting stick in properly), i know the effect of the creating the ball is bad, and i'd like any criticism.

p.p.s if you know any AS2 coding that you can explain very simply (I'm bad at coding) that will be appreciated

TL;DR if you know any ways to make the effect of nanobot movement and creating something post below :), the link ontop is of the demo i'm making

I'm not one for effects, but start out simple, use some radial and particles. Then you will just excel from there.

someone get miccool up in here

animating small fun-sized dots is pretty simple, but it's quite tedious at the same time. Instead of re-drawing them each frame, when you make a key frame simply just move each dot every time (though this maybe more time consuming)

my suggestion for this would be animate one dot at a time (animate the first dot and when your done go back to the very first frame and animate another dot, this way works better with the re-draw way.)

Shape Tweens? Don't you mean motion Tweens? Shape Tweens are mainly use to change something's shape

yer, shape tweens, with a bunch of dots they look like nanobots (Kinda) because they scatter from one place to another. and it works (and not that slow either :P)

EDIT: After further testing shape tweens do not work, because trying to make a single object with a bunch of dots stuffs up (try it and you'll see what i'm on about) so i still need a solution ):
