So, I'm probably going to acquire a laptop for Christmas, but I don't know too much about picking a good one. The main two things I'm looking for are a good processor and good memory (around 2GB of RAM). I would prefer to have a dedicated graphics card. The keyboard and screen aren't anything that important, as long as they aren't really small. An isolation-style keyboard would be awesome, but it doesn't matter too much. Touch pads aren't an issue because I will be using a mouse. Last, I'd like to get it cheap. If you guys could help me find one that would be great.

I'm using an HP (972 Notebook PC) laptop. Lots of storage space and runs faster than most computers. In fact, it sort of made me lose any bit of patience with other people's slower technology. If a page hasn't loaded after five seconds I get quite pissed at whatever it is. Only $500. Trackpad, but obviously you could plug in a USB mouse.

Alright, I'll check it out, even though I've never been too fond of hps.

Anyone else? :3

Get a desktop.
Higher quality and more reliable for the same price.

I'd love to have a desktop, but I need to be able to take it places, so that's why I'm looking for a laptop.

If all your going to do is animate with it, get something like I used to have
(Acer aspire netbook 13' screen 4GB RAM 650GB Hard drive)

But you could probably get something similar to mine for a much cheaper price. Good luck with your laptop :)

Animating isn't why I need a laptop. Majority of it is schoolwork.
