Howdy Everyone! Your friendly neighborhood Tenneesseean here to bring you one (and apparently the only one I can bring because of the one gladiator per person) of his WRHGs. This one is interesting and different because, well, he's an alien! Ay, you heard right, Lance here is an E.T. Now, without further adu, you know him, (probably not) ya love 'im (debateable) Laaaaaance Cloudspeakeeeeeer. *He says in announcer voice*
1:Name- Lance Cloudspeaker
2:Powers- He is quite proficient with his staff. He can use spark touch. Spark touch is when, Lance taps into his Treydan physiology to cause a small electrical current to pass from his hands to whatever he's touching. Either in a quick one time shock, or a consistent over time shock. He often uses it in combination with his staff, when the situation demands it.
Treydan form: His thick scales reduce the effectiveness of bladed and piercing weapons. His muscular structure makes him very strong, and quite fast. He can use spark touch without fear of overloading his nervous system.
3:Weaknesses- Human Form: He is a human like anyone else in this form. His spark touch has a chance to overload his central nervous system. The more he uses it the higher chance of it happening, as well as possibly giving him a heart attack due to the amount of electricity.
Treydan form: Gets very disoriented when hit on the head. He is clumsier with his staff, using it more like he would a sword. The more he uses spark touch, the more tired he gets. He requires food more frequently. He is very susceptible to high temperatures.
4:Personality- He is very kind, and loves helping the needy. He is very smart when it comes to technology, however he is very innocent when it comes to human nature and traditions (I.E. if someone poked him playfully, he would probably wonder if that is how humans show their affections to one another). He is very sensitive when it comes to talking about his past, due to what happened and what he is.
5:Appearance- Human Form: He is tall, around 5'11", and of average size. He has dark green eyes and slicked back, dark brown hair. His watch on his left hand is actually a device that disguises his true form, called a Disguise Band. Lance wears a light blue polo that is tucked in to his dress pants. He often carries around a foot long pole in his pocket that, when given a shake, can extend to about seven feet.
Treydan Form: He is about 8 feet tall ,and is very muscular. He also has thick white scales, and has a tail like a lizard. He has spikes that run down the length of his back and the first few inches of the tail. The spikes get gradually smaller the further down the back they get. He has four dark green eyes and no true ears to speak of. He has a semi normal mouth, however his lower jaw can split apart to eat much larger objects. His legs are reverse jointed (digitigrade) and has claws for hands. He still wears the disguise band on his left hand, however it is bigger to fit his arm. He wears no clothes in this form, but his 'business' is hidden behind a flap of skin.
6:Backstory- Lance came from a well respected family on his home planet. They were the earth equivalent of knights. Lance's father was a member of the elite guard for the monarchy. His mother was a Druet (Their word for 'noble') that frequently visited the castle to offer her services. It wasn't long before the two were in love and bound. In less than four months an egg was made, and five months of intense watch later Lance hatched.
He had a normal childhood (as far as Treydan childhood is concerned), he was taught martial prowess by his father, and manners by his mother. At the age of fourteen (seven earth years) he saw his Life partner, Isela (although at the time he didn't realise it). They became friends and played as most do. Because of their species, they were able to play a little rougher however. When they were 20, during one of their play-sessions Isela broke her tail. Lance quickly took her to the local healer, who fixed her up. Lance felt terrible and went out to get her a present. What he ended up doing was getting, her the Ribbon of Companionship (the equivalent of a wedding ring). He came back to the building she was in and presented it to her. Soon they where married, and the next year Kyner was born.
Once he was old enough, the Cloudspeakers began teaching their son as Lance's parents had him. Lance eventually joined his sector's (a state) defense force in order to better protect his family. Due to his lineage he rose in ranks quite fast.
When Lance was thirty-four his unit heard word of other sectors going silent, and so they were sent to investigate. On the way to the sector, the airship he was in got shot down. Another alien force that had been at odds with the Treydans, the Derguns, were attacking their home planet. Lance's squad fought back but were quickly outnumbered. The invading force rolled right over them, literally on a few of his teammates. Lance himself was wounded badly during the skirmish. He watched as the enemy force closed in on his home. He was weak and beaten, so with him losing blood he passed out. He awoke to the sounds of explosions and gunfire in the distance. He got up and managed to shamble to his crashed ship. He grabbed a radio and tried to contact his base but no-one responded.
He sat there for a few moments trying to regain his strength, before the fighting seemed to stop. He got worried, so he decided to make his way back home, even though he was still very wounded. After a days worth of shambling back towards his sector, he found it destroyed. Among the wreckage was his family. He was distraught, but he trecked to a nearby science facility and took the only Disguise Band that was left. He searched around and found no survivors. He heard the Dergun force closing in again, so he ran and hid shamefully. When they passed he found a ship and was able to fly off-world. In flight, the Derguns got wind of the escape and took chase. Lance's ship got damaged and was sent hurtling through space. Through sheer luck and careful maneuvering, he landed on earth. After testing on local humans, he gathered enough data to formulate a suitable look for his Disguise Band. He soon joined the RHG to see what humans were capable of, although his true motives remained to himself.
7:Demo- One day in the local park a very respectable looking man with slicked back hair was feeding birds with a bread loaf. He took out a slice and tossed it on the ground; then the birds swarmed the piece. Lance put some crumbs in his hand and let one of the animals in it to eat. He held it up to his face and studied it; then stroked it and laughed lightly. "What interesting creatures live on this world." When the crumbs were gone, it flew back to the rest of the group, which was digging into the rest of the bread packet. Lance smiled, but a voice from behind caught him off guard.
"Lance, you're coming with us." The alien sighed and stood up.
"Crush, I beat you the last time you tried detaining me, what makes you think this will be any different?" He turned around and saw three men. The one in the middle smirked and pointed at the suits next to him. They both were dressed like Crush, but also had Black-tinted glasses and sheathes at their side.
"Them." The two men kept a stern face and pulled their swords out of their holds. They stood in a typical samurai fashion. Lance reached in his pocket and pulled out a ruler-size pole. With a quick snap of his wrist, the pole elongated to seven feet. Lance gripped it with both hands, and stood defensively. The surrounding civilians were starting to clear out, but the birds seemed to stare at the group for a moment before finishing the bread. All was quiet for that moment. But to the warriors it seemed to last much longer than a simple moment. Then, the agent to the left of Crush raised his sword and stepped forward, bringing the blade down as he went. Lance stepped to the left and thrusted with his weapon at the agents stomach. He took it and stumbled back; The other swordsman was in mid-swing by then.
Lance barely had time to backstep the attack. He sighed in relief then smacked the second swordsman's hand with metal. This caused the man to drop his blade and grab his hand in pain. Crush and the first swordsman were charging by then. Lance smirked as he parried the blade, hit Crush in his side, then spun the staff above his head before hitting them both across the face. They fell to the ground, and Lance smiled.
"How is this different than last time?" He mused. He turned around just as the second swordsman was running at him, ready to throw a punch. Lance ducked and the fist went over him. "You humans are very persistent." The alien put his palm over the mans chest, and let his Treydan physiology send an electrical current straight through the agents heart. The man screamed for a second, then fell backwards, dead. "Whoops!" He uttered in panic. Lance then put both hands on the man's chest and kickstarted his heart, like a doctor would with a defibrillator. He jumped into a sit-up, gasping for air, and thanked Lance for saving his life. "Your welcome." He beamed, then punched the agent in the face, knocking him out. He stood up and pushed an indented button on his staff, causing it to retract. He stared at the memento his wife gave him, and he frowned slightly. I miss you Isela. I wish I cou-. His thought was interrupted by one of the agents.
"Da-- you Lance, you're gonna get me fired!" Crush mumbled as he sat up. Lance turned, tilted his head and questioned, "Well, why would they set you on fire? That seems very horrible for just failing a mission." Crush now had the confused look, as he thought, Is this guy for real? Lance shrugged and started walking away.
"Good luck with your boss, it is fun beating you over and over. I hope your boss does not kill you!" He yelled back waving his hand. The agent stood up with a scowl on his face. He ran forward with his hand pulled back, ready to bludgeon the back of his opponent's head. Lance spun around and punched Crush in the face with a fully charged hand. The Agent fell on his back and passed out. The birds had all but scattered by then, leaving only the bag and scattered crumbs. "I love this planet, what interesting creatures live on this world." Lance put his hands in his pockets and strode off. Leaving the three bodies to sleep.
8:Extra notes- He constantly notes how 'old' human technology is.
- Lance usually stays in his ship when not out and about. The ship itself is always cloaked and is powered by strong solar panels. (Details on the inside can be given on request)
- When in his human form he is physically human; it is not a hologram.
- When in Treydan Form, he can't speak English due to the difference in his vocal cords, but he can somewhat speak Treydan in human form.
- I have been working on a Treydan Dictionary, I.E. I am making a language for his alien form to speak. I currently have 54 words, and am constantly making new ones.
- Although his staff isn't indestructible, it doesn't break easy. It was also a gift from his wife for their second anniversary.
- He tries to stay in human form when in public areas so as not to frighten the humans.
- On his planet he would be considered thirty-six, but on earth he is eighteen.
- Due to the difference in language, when in human form he doesn't use contractions. (Ex: He would say 'does not' instead of 'doesn't')
- When he changes to Treydan (and vise versa) the disguise band shifts his DNA structure to fit with that of what he is changing into. During this, the device also injects a kind of anesthesia to numb the pain of the transformation.
- When he changes to Treydan, anything in his pockets, will fall to the ground, due to his clothes being torn apart from the change in size. When he changes to human his clothes are holographic, but by then he is back in his ship.
