So I remembered the other day that I had learned how to type properly in typing class one time. I type much faster in my style as I am much more used to it. So I tried typing orthodox and it just doesn't feel right.
I've found that I got a gamer style of typing. My left hand on WSAD with my pinky on the left shift, right thumb on space bar and my right hand hovering over the top of JKL; "not really using my right pinky" with really dynamic movement and I actually type really fast like this. Every time I try to remain standard I will find myself in game resorting back to my typing habits. "Which I had probably learned from playing on computers before ever having any formal teaching.
What about you guys, how do you type?

I usually type with my left hand Ring, Middle, and Index finger on the A, S, and D keys. My right's Index, Middle, and Ring on the L, ;, and ' key's.
It's weird, I find myself constantly switching between looking at the keyboard and looking at the screen while I type.

For me I glance down at the keyboard, I use more of the style they teach you in school with both thumbs on the space bar. I used to hunt and peck but now I just look at my fingers while I type, and quite fast at it, although my fingers can get moving faster than I can think, lol.

When I first started typing my first two stages were.
1: Index finger hunt and peck style.
2: T-rex style, index and middle finger on each hand.
Then I started playing video games and I started evolving to the WSAD technique. Slowly over time I realized how much easier it was to just have my left pinky on top of the left shift key and I gradually turned into the experienced typist I am today.

Starting positions:
.Left hand fingers asdf
.Right hand fingers jkl;
.Both thumbs on space
Then they just naturally move around.

I don't use the correct way either, it feels too awkward. Maybe my fingers are too long.
I left-shift with my ring finger, Spacebar with my right Index finger... I'm all fucked up.
However I still manage to type almost 90 WPM with 0 errors, without looking. /flex

I know right? It's like I can't type worth a damn doing it standard.

My primary school conditioned me at an early stage. There was no escaping the system.

I didn't have any typing classes until my freshman year of high school.
But I could smoke almost everyone in that class at typing. "Cept for that one kid who all he ever did was play on computers."

I got taught in primary school, but they did a horrible job teaching it.
I pretty much type orthodox style, except I never use my pinkie fingers. Other than that I would say I'm pretty normal.

I type the standard way that I was taught in school, except I think I do a couple things that are apparently non-standard. I can't remember what exactly they are because I learned to type like 5 years ago, but they made things a ton easier for me. "Orthodox" typing doesn't really help me type at super speed, but I can type fast enough already that it's really irrelevant.

I never realized how weird it feels to try and type with pinkys. For me at least. For me, typing just came from typing a bunch till I got good at it
