What plays for your alarm?

I'm still experimenting with different alarms, trying to find one that works well. I think I'm about to come to the conclusion that the sound doesn't make a difference, because I am always just as slow to get out of bed no matter what alarm. Is there a certain alarm that helps you get out of bed?

... I wake up to an alarm blaring in my ear. Sounds sort of like *BLAT* *BLAT* *BLAT*. Soothing.

I used to use a Pokemon alarm clock (which is now 12 years old) that played the last verse of the original theme song. "Gotta catch em all. POKEMON!!!"

Eventually it got so annoying I began anticipating when it would go off, checking the time constantly 30 minutes before the song actually started.

But early this year I bought a new alarm that beeps progressively faster and hence gets more annoying if you don't turn it off. Like Jombo I leave it far away so it forces me to walk up to it and turn it off. By then I open the curtains to blind me and head to the shower.

The trick is to buy an alarm that you will despise.

I set my blackberry alarm's volume to 10. That's about it, i don't know why i would have to take any more precaution in my alarms considering i'm not a deep sleeper or anything.

I used to have Dragonforce-though the fire and the flames, max volume.... Everyone woke up, but me ;c;
So I have literally 8-9 alarms separated by 5 minutes each one, with something like a annoying bonk sound, now I can wake up with the 5 or 6th alarm lol

I don't use alarms. I let my body decide when I should get up naturally.

Must be nice not having to work in the morning.

I have an alarm on my phone that starts out quiet and gradually gets louder, it's a lot better than starting your day with a sudden, loud alarm scaring the shit out of you.

I wake up to a really loud, annoying, somewhat ordinary alarm. It has become my least favorite sound in the world.

me too, i put this option by the same motive as you. and in my phone i use the music "psychosocial", slipknot. call me crazy, but for me, waking up hearing a rock genre music is the best thing.

I used to use a Piano alarm clock though... It played the sound of what seemed to be a child smashing the keys of a piano it was quite soothing considering when you're half asleep that shit could be Beethoven for all I knew. But now I just wake up on my own, if I'm late for a lecture that's my own fault. I am considering getting a Navi alarm clock though, that shit shines.

this is what wakes me up on weekends.
Unfortunately I have class during the week, so the regular annoying alarm placed across the room is my way to go.
