Go with whatever frame rate you like, so long as the animation looks good. If you can make the animation look good at 1 fps, then go ahead.

The average fps now is 24, I think.

As for 'stick style' I don't really know what you mean. Perhaps you're talking about the brush and line tool?

no way!
well, alot of people might use it but its certainly more of a high end fps than an all around fps.

i use 18, id say to start with you should use about 16 - 18...then move to 20 eventually. ive animated for years and have felt no need to move to 24.

i can also use line or brush, but i prefer line...its totally up to you. try both and see waht you're better with

ty, i will work on that fps and from what i see all the really good flash vids are with the linetool so im gonna practice with that.

does fps change what your distance should be inbetween each frame?

btw ty for the help =]

24 is what the average animator here uses. Some can people use lower FPS and make it look sexy. 24 is the best to start out as

Actually most of the popular flashes are done with brush [The Shock series, Stick Omen, etc.]

Fps changes how fast the frames pass by, so if you had a decent speed run at 12 fps, then went to 24 fps, you would need to double the amount of frames to make it run at the same speed. Make sure when you add the extra frames that you're drawing new positions in between the previous ones, otherwise upping the FPS is pointless...

basically it looks like this at 12 FPS

000000

and then up it to 24 FPS and make it look like this

0-0-0-0-0-0-

Then like this

000000000000

0 = new keyframe
- = added length of the frame

Now your animation is smoother and nicer looking. The process is generally referred to as double framing, however double framing can also mean just adding one extra length to your frames without adding the keyframes.

i would have to disagree. it depends on the animator, its no good telling a newbie to start out at 24 fps when they cant handle it. (which is most newbies IMO, i know i couldnt do such a high fps when i started). whilst others can. meh, i dont care too much im just throwing in my opinion...
