I just saw this today, and thought it was amazing. Before seeing the movie I didn't know it was going to be its own separate trilogy, and I don't really know what I think of it. I like the idea because I know they'll be a lot of detail, just like the book, but on the other hand, I have to wait longer to see them all.

just saw this today, movies such as these really grasp my attention, though I'm not too familiar with the trilogy myself, nor have I actually read the books, but watching this movie made me wanting more, the part that got me the most was during the time the dwarves were sorting all of the dishes
good movie indeed

The dishes scene was pretty cool.
What was strange about this movie, was that nothing extra badass from the book even happened. (Fighting smaug, the battle of five armies) This just tells me the movie containing these will be even better. It will most likely be the third but smaug could be in the 2nd as well.

yeah, i just watched it like, three days ago. That movie was the best movie i saw in 2012. and i saw alot. but i'd say the autors planned pretty good the whole "we know you're gonna want to see the next movie" thing. like, at the end, it showed the whole dunes of gold, and Smaug waking up, to end the movie. like, i was really expecting them to kill Smaug in this movie, but then "No. Not this time." then now i'll have to wait a year or something for the next one. goddamnit.

Yeah I think smaug is going to come in a different movie, that necromancer's also something I'd like to see

I saw this movie last night, It was truly spectacular. I truly loved this masterpiece.
I mean pretty much everything about it was perfect!
Even the the cliffhanger at the end pissed me off a bit, it was a perfect place to end it!
This is really a film to remember. Can't wait for the next one.
