RHG stands for Rock Hard Gladiator, and the "w" I assume means writing or written or something like that. Basically, you create a character (that fights), with all of it with words (except I think you can use a picture or drawing for appearance). After you finish our character (with abilities, weaknesses so he isn't too op, story, demo, etc), you challenge people to battles, where you each write a story of your character fighting his. Once you are done, one of you makes a thread and poll, and readers (the 2 story creators can't vote) will vote for whichever they think is better.

Actually in wRHG the two guys that wrote it can vote as far as I know. I think they generally just vote for themselves and it evens out.

What? I need to go check the rules again...
Quote from sacred
In creating a battle thread, you agree and adhere to the following rules laid below. If you do not follow the necessary rules, you will be held accountable for your mistake.

wRHG Battle Rules:

1. Anyone is at anytime allowed to challenge any other person to a wRHG battle.

2. Anyone who is challenged to a wRHG battle has full option to decline or accept.

3. Once both parties agree to battle, a deadline must be set.

4. Once the deadline hits, you MUST have your wRHG battle finished. No excuses. If not, you forfeit the battle and give the other party a victory.

5. If a deadline needs to change, both participants must discuss and agree on it. If no agreement is made, it does not change.

6. Do not vote for yourself NOR your opponent in a battle. It is up to 3rd parties to decide who the victor is.

7. NO plagiarism.

8. Every battle is to have a 7 DAY poll time limit in order for voting to ensue fairly and efficiently.

9. Once a battle is finished and a victor is decided, it is up to the thread creator to notify the Hall of Warriors the result. If you're involved in a battle thread created by someone else and they fail to do this, do it instead and inform the Hall of Warriors that the thread creator did not.

10. Play fair, have fun, and be really creative.

It's not a major rule, so if a guy does it by accident, the other can vote for himself/herself and it'd be fine. If a person keeps voting on his/her own battles all the time after being warned, though, it's certainly worth an infraction.

Hey all, one of the newbs here. I just wanted to drop in and say my wRHG is coming along nicely I just have to finish up a few things. Though I want to know something, is too much detail a bad thing? I feel I might be too descriptive when it comes to some parts of my wRHG, I just want to know if a high level of detail is appreciated or not. Thank you~

It can be good and bad, if you are overly descriptive on one thing then it's bad, if you say 20 things about a single action that took less than 20 seconds to perform then its bad.

Try and find a medium on description.

It always depends on the situation. Parts of your story that demand more attention (climax, major plot points, and the setting) will obviously demand more detail than smaller occurrences, and sometimes you might change how descriptive you are with certain parts depending on what the character is currently focusing on. It's really up to you, but putting little to no detail is something you should try to avoid most of the time, unless it breaks the flow of your story. Describing it too much only happens when you begin to describe a large number of observations that aren't really necessary to the story at hand.

Thank you guys, it's not overly descriptive like that. Hate it when an entire paragraph is dedicated to describing how beautifully one's hair flows in the wind or something dumb like that :P Should have my wRHG up later tonight or in the morni. Following the current trend he will have a theme song.

Well, if the hair just happens to be integral to the plot (maybe a dude's trying to find another dude whose wig is rigged with a bomb or something?), then yes, that would be appropriate. If you're just describing a character in general, a sentence would usually suffice. And I haven't seen a lot of wRHGs with theme songs here o_o

I've seen a few so I thought why the hell not. And I guess if hair was a main thing of the story then yea but... That would just be weird or silly to me X3

I say go for it.
While it's mainly shown through the demo/backstory, just the general page is a good way of gaging how well someone can write, and attention to detail is something to be commended for.
