Kayo was originally just a hood rat child who was forcibly annexed by Anthony Miller's weapon company and was made into a trained assassin well versed in use of both guns and swords, thus allowing him to be the wielder of one of Miller's newest and potential weapons called the Gunsword.
Kayo cannot recall past those memories but instead remembers waking up with dead guards surrounding him in pools of blood.
He often gets nightmares and visions of his past to which we believe are memories returning slowly but surely.
The few who know of Kayo's past are out to kill him and or hate him.
He seeked RHG as a place to stay in and as a way of redemption.

A: He's very calm, silent, and direct. He often remains neutral in most situations but tends to balance more towards the good side because of his conscience and ever lasting need to redeem himself of his horrible past.

A: No, he often refrains from killing most of his opponents unless put in a situation where he has very little choice or is being attacked too much to discriminate who does or does not deserve to die.
He does though have a tendency to kill psycho killers, scumbags, or remorseless people.
