Watch them forget that when things come through the atmosphere....they burn.

And to keep it light and all paper, they'd have to have no monitoring equipment on it so they'll need to spot this speck it's entire journey.

No, actually, things only burn if their speed is so hight that the air friction creates a reaction. A small peice of paper wouldn't burn. That's what the wind tunnel test was all about.

Awesome idea. It's the same concept applied to egg drops: achieve the slowest possible terminal velocity.


It seems a little silly though. What would you really use a paper plane for? You can't add more mass to it without ruining the design. Not to mention it would be almost impossible to track the re-entry due to the slow speeds. It could change course from a simple breeze or an updraft. I also don't need to point out that most of Earth is covered with water >.>

But it'd have to go fast for it to really get anywhere, unles they calculate some wind patterns or some shit. And even then, I'd like to know how they're gonna make it go from space, turn around and come back. Great idea, but unlikely.
