Awhile back ago I had a poll asking about the "Ultimate Guitarist of all time". Of course everyone complained about choices not on the list. This was my fault as I should have forseen this. Well now I want to broaden the horizon and give it another go. Randomly mixing guitarists from the Rolling Stones article "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". I think I've got a safe limit. You may notice some names not there that i know are popular so I'll add those few in anyways because I know they are popular.
Each round will consist of 15 Guitarists (Poll Max) and the top 3 will be picked into the next round. Even if you don't really like the guitarists I'm encouraging you to pick the best from the choices to get things going. I'll have info on each guitarist which may include an article, video, or audio.
This thread/post will be referred to in the other rounds JSYK.
Duane Allman From the Allman Brothers Band - Random Solo
B.B. King - Blues Boys Tune
Eric Clapton - I Shot the Sheriff Cover (w00t)

Instead of spamming could you either ignore the topic or simply vote out of the best of choices. I chose the rolling stones list because i can't remember to many good guitarists off the top of my head and there is a lot people like so im using it to broaden choice.

Well, here's the deal: What is it that defines a good guitarist? Is it the ability to play fast? To create beautiful music? Have a flawless technique? And what is a good technique? There is different techniques you use when you play classical music, flamenco or rock. How do you decide which is the best?
Kirk Hammet of Metallica is the 11th on that list. He can play fast, but all of his solos are the same boring shit. He is up there because Metallica got big. Kurt Cobain is also on the list. He's not that great technically, bu the is an amazing songwriter. Paco De Lucía is not on the list, yet he is one of the most skilled flamenco guitarists of all time.
