So ever since the merge with FA and I had this in mind:
Why can't Stickpage, the same way they did with Fluidanims, merge with other renowed animation sites too and make this huge animating community. Besides increasing site activity, we would have more people to talk with and more creativity and ideas.
And speaking of more people I noticed that there some really old accounts on stickpage that are never used, people just forgot about them. I think these accounts should be deleted and replaced by new ones, but this another story now.
Back to where we were, here's a list of well known sites dedicated to animation I think Stickpage should get in touch with sooner or later:

-Stykz
http://www.stykz.net/

-DarkDemon
http://darkdemon.org/

-Droidz
http://www.droidz.org/

-The Stickman Project
http://stickmanproject.com/

-Animastic (German)
http://www.animtastic.at/forum/

-Maplemation
http://maplemation.com/forum/

-The Spritas
http://www.thespritas.com/

-Pivot Animation
http://www.pivotanimation.org/forum/

There are other sites, but these are the most active and were the easiest to find. There are pretty good animators on these sites, some very pro-ish. Combining all these sites would make the ultimate animation website.

That would be amazing :O
It would make for some interesting contrast, because they are animators but some are from a different perspective in how they present or create their films.

Exactly right. Try to contact the admins of these sites and get talking about the thought.

I realize that your heart is in the right place stone. But i'm going to just leave this at no. Because the merge with SP was enough for us. Were already mad we lost FA and I don't think anyone else wants to have ANOTHER merge. It would be a waste of time and in the end you'll have a community of pissed off animators because we were forced to leave SP. It'd be like we just settled in and now we have to move again?

But I doubt we will remerge with someone else.

If we'd merge with all those sites, SP would divide in to 10 warring factions, all struggling for survival, supplies and territory in this cruel, unjust wasteland. There'd be no peace, no sharing. It'd be survival of the fittest, with a primitive tribe-like social structure. Because war... War never changes.

Obviously.

Sorry, I think I'v been playing too much Fallout: New Vegas.

It's called Newgrounds.

Seriously though it's not as simple as "just merge". There's a lot of politics and shit that goes into these kinds of things, and there are a lot of website owners that wouldn't be willing to just give up control. Also, you get into the issue of money as well, where the owners of those sites wouldn't give up a possible monthly income from ads, and I'm sure Jay wouldn't want to suddenly be responsible for paying for these sites.

What Jeff said.

Also, I'd doubt Maplemation would even want to merge. They've just remade their site layout, started a whole bunch of events, and etc. Plus, they aren't easy to handle. They would just start a swearing fest and sexual posts everywhere.

Sorry if this isn't contributing to the thread much, but I looked on the darkdemon site, and guess who I found?
JUKE?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
I thought this dude was dead or something, but he seems to be very active over there, WHERE THE FUDGE IS FRAMASH HUH?!

And a full out super community would defeat the point in communities in general.
Sure Facebook could buy off Skype Twittter myspace and Instagram.
But that would defeat the purpose of Social networking.

I think communities are there because they like to do things there own way, have they're own morals and such.
Cuss I know for a fact FA and SP did things a ton different before the merge.

If you get what I mean...

Lol I wouldn't know, I don't give 2 flucks about Social networks, I actually tend to hate them, but I think I still proved my point pretty well.
And yes I said flucks.

in my opinion if there would be more merge there is a high possibility of more people to use the site which divides into good and bad...

GOOD: because of more people more active community

BAD: because of more people it would be much more harder to handle and might cause abuse of some members to others without being noticed...

but thats just only my opinion and also isnt stickpage enough for u guys? i mean stickpage already is awesome the it is :D

i don't think this is a good idea ...

besides if we want stickpage to rule over those "small" communities , we at least should improve..

like for example : we still don't have a portal where peaple submit their animations !

we need to make this website a cool place where peaple would love to give up their communities and join ours !

another thing , it's the difference what makes us human , and that's how we imporove .

It would be divide and conquer for us all.
The amount of issues summed up by the sudden influx of members in a site merge will pile up and prove to be more of a hinderance than benefit.
There are things to consider:
-How the new members will cope
-How the staff will handle the situation
-How the rules will change if necessary?
-If there will need to be an expanded moderation team, and who would be fitting for the job.
-How the forum will change to suit the majority need

I can see all these things becoming a problem if a merge of that magnitude were to occur.
In fact I think this is the last merge we'd want to have.
