I thought it was fully-functional, because i don't buy swords for decor.

Lmfao you bought a cheap ass decor sword and then you're surprised when the blade snaps?

If you want actually durable blades with some cutting edge, I'd suggest you buy from cold steel or something next time. Not Walmart. lol
Though it doesn't sound like you know what you're doing, and you're probably going to end up hurting yourself if you don't get an instructor. Do you even kendō, bro?

Anyway, I have some Chinese decor twin swords, handmade, that I bought during my trip to China. This one dude had this small blacksmith shop, and he made all his weapons himself. It's pretty cool looking, but I haven't been maintaining it properly. I might take a picture later.

My sister gave me a machete as a thanks-for-letting-me-have-a-party-at-your-house present. Can I play with the cool kids now?

So basically all of you guys have decor swords that rust and snap after a while. So much for ninjas on SP.
If anyone here happens to have a REAL fighting katana that can perfectly slice through a palm tree then tell me

For about two years I had a katana, beautiful blade about the length of my arm with an oak handle. Unfortunately, we had to get rid of it due to a lot of complications with maintenance and me having little formal training. I planned to get a wooden blade, but my mom has been skeptical on me practicing more swordplay. I did get a machete two years ago that I've been allowed to keep, and it's still in excellent condition. I use it to cut through the small trees that grow by my house, as well as tall weeds.

I'm glad she didn't try to force me back to Guatemala to return it. It's also great for coconuts.

My brother has a carbon steel katana but its really low class and he hasn't taken care of it...its sad really. We just bought a brand new machete and we have 2 steel broad swords,2 pairs twin tiger hook swords, and 3 stainless steel katanas.

I have had a year of kendo training. Not much, but better than nothing. This is my machete, which I have lovingly named Lu-Lu Belle. Sharp as the day I bought her.

Ninjapivotslayer, you're cool. Let's talk some time, fellow kendoist.
The rest of you are white trash crap.
Buying swords, thinking you can use them. Even the best katana will break if you use it wrong.

I don't use the katana, my brother does and was trained. I was trained with bo-staff.

Also assuming and calling people "white trash" is offensive.
