For those of you who play chess(it's not for nerds like you think), or at least for those of you who play chess well, you know there is a Beginning Game, Middle Game, and Ending Game. All of these are crucial to win the battle.

Beginning:

The beginning is mainly focused on getting your pieces into good position, setting up attacks around the board, etc.

Stick Empires is similar to this. Buy the units you want and set them up around the map. Also similar, capturing the middle is important in the game as it is in chess.

Middle:

The middle in chess is about capturing your opponent's pieces, trying to gain extra pieces and making strategic moves (forks, checks, etc.).

In SE, we try to kill, because we're not as kind as chess players, the opponent's units. You're trying to limit him/her by killing his/her units. Also, you're setting up for the End Game, buying the units for this section.

End:

In chess, the main goal of the end game is getting your pawns to the other side of the board and checkmating your opponent. Exchanging your pawns for a queen is kind of like buying GIANTS. Buy Giants. The huge attacking units are necessary for the end game. Of course, you can sneak some Spearton in there as well, but Giants should be your key players. I guess you could call it spamming Giants.

Many of you are STILL complaining about Giant Spammers. If you're really so annoyed that you can't find a better strategy, then you should spam Giants as well. Simple as that. If you truly believe it's the best strategy, then use it! Do you think Native Americans would have survived if they insisted on using clubs against guns? Well, maybe they did but if they had built guns to fight they might have won. Do you think people kept using swords when the gun was invented? No! If you think spamming Giants is the best strategy then USE IT.

But for those of you who are intent on finding a defeat for this...

I won't tell you what the strategy is, but the best way is to use it yourself. But wait, I'm not done yet. If you use it yourself, do you think you're going to win every single game? Eventually you WILL be defeated. Then you can use the strategy that defeated your Giants against another Giant spammer. This is the way to find a solution.

Have a nice day :D

Early game, not end game. And your explanation of chess is a bit off as well as confusing to someone that doesn't play chess.

Early Game- About moving your pieces into the areas where they are strongest, while also grabbing for some control over the middle.

Middle Game- Trying to gain advantages whether it is a positional advantage, a piece advantage (having more pieces than your opponent, or stronger pieces), or a philosophical advantage(opponent is overestimating his advantage, or underestimating yours, playing too defensive, etc.)

The middle game is also about finding combinations to use in attacks against your opponent.

End Game- Checkmating your opponent. NOT and I repeat NOT about getting pawns to the other side of the board. That rarely happens in my games, and when it does, it is usually in a very close end game, or a game in which it was done needlessly, when my opponent could have just checkmated me with his Rook and King anyways.

The end game usually also includes the finding of multiple combinations of attack.

All right, edited that part out because of you and my friend who's a girl, not my girlfriend, by the way.

Umm... yeah what is your rating? Chess, not SE. Mine is 1736 anyways, I'll give you my name and you can look me up on uschess. Also, if I lost a rook I probably would have resigned because there's almost no chance. Most of my games end evenly, although I usually have my pawns in a better position. If you've read ANYTHING about End game strategies, it mostly talks about pawns and using your King. If you're down a rook, the game is over for you. Only amateurs still read about how to checkmate with a rook. The best thing to do if you're up a rook is to get a pawn for a queen (Ha! meant queen for a pawn lol) and using your rook to defend against his king. Although checkmating with a bishop and a knight and NO pawns is considerably harder. Took 1:30 minutes of my time in a tournament (out of 3 hours) to finish him off. Heh!

Actually, I meant setting up attacks e.g. bishop supporting queen for a check-mate diagonally across the board, forks with knight, pinning knight to queen, etc. I actually won a game when I was 6 against some 1300 guy with diagonal queen checkmate move. Game was exactly 7 moves, took 2 minutes. Also, the End Game refers to having not many pieces left, so you can't really have multiple combinations of attack. Do you actually play in tournaments, or just against your father or something?

Yeah umm... I do actually play in tournaments( once every few months so my rating doesn't mean much to me, nor will it in the future). See, you see things differently from how I do. I have multiple end games in which there are more than just 10 or so pieces left. I've had a few just like you were speaking of as well. Each game can have a shorter mid game than another as well as a shorter end game and vice versa. Where would you put the end game in a game which had only 7 moves?

No I meant the bishop and queen checkmate at the beginning of the game.

No 7 moves not four. I took the center pawn above the kingside castle, checkmating him. He was pretty surprised all right!
