Goddamnit Jombo, I was about to post that >:I
Well there it is, the 23 things you should abide by on the forum.
infractions are handed out according to what you screwed up, how bad, and sometimes how frequent.
I believe Jeff mentioned somewhere that a 10 total point infraction rate is a ban, and 20 is a permaban.
5 points is a 1 day ban, 10 points is a 7 day ban, and 20 points is a permanent ban.
The default infractions range from 1 - 10 points. The only 10 point infraction is "illegal content" which is meant for people directly sharing warez or something stupid like child porn or something. The only 5 point infraction is for spam, which is meant for people who are posting just to be disruptive (IE "asdkfashfglkahfsglkahfglkjahsdflkhadlkfhalksdhflakshdflaksdf" or something). The rest are 1 or 2 points.
How it works is you have overall infraction points, each infraction you get adds to that number. When it hits one of the milestones above, the ban happens. So if you have 5 points and get a 1 day ban, then you come back after and get 5 more points, you'd be banned again for 7 days, and then if you came back from THAT and did it AGAIN, you'd be permanently banned. The infractions expire after 14 days by default, so if you get 3 points, and then wait 14 days you'll go back to 0. We still keep track of what you do, so if you get a shit ton of total infractions and just narrowly avoid the ban milestones, we may still punish you (this is why 2-D was banned, he had 26 infractions and would just narrowly miss the ban milestones).
If your case of repeat offending is something to be looked at, some of the moderators will overlook your points and take disciplinary action anyway, depending on the situation.
You'll also want to take a look at this:

These are more or less expectations on how you should act on the forums; It's partially tied with the rules of Stickpage, so I recommend you read it.
EDIT: I also love how the dude asked for a list of ban periods, but instead he gets stories of people getting banned rather than info on the ban itself.
