This guy told me not to attack him. I thought he was either a n00b or he thought I was a n00b and "go easy on him." Instead, I found out that after getting a bunch of miners, 1 miner wall, a basic archer, and a castle archer, he simply went AFK. I tried to do what he said and not attack him. After unlocking Castle Spawn I, took my small army to capture the center tower. I held my army until enough of the ghost speartons broke the wall and killed everyone he had. (I hadn't attacked yet; I could have finished him with just tower spawn I if I had the time). After getting a giant, maxing out giant size, and getting tower spawn II, I proceeded to kill him off. It took about 2 seconds to destroy his statue.

Honestly, I'd say you could have had a chance if you attacked the statue when the other guy garrisoned his units. Also, too many merics. I'd two would be a better number to go with. I'd also suggest you should have gotten more speartons before worrying about giants. 4-5 speartons plus a meric can easily kill a giant plus meric, plus they are a lot faster in movement and attacking. Your response to his crawlers was pretty good, except you should have followed through and killed all of them. It seemed pretty even until later on, which is good.

A really good replay (I'm not playing in it) of a unusual counter against reasonable chaos. Notice he deliberately doesn't use much gold so he can build troops later in the game while his opponents gold has nearly run out. It also shows how to put multiple castle archers to good effect
