Pretty good, thanks, but he was only 80 points below you and you are talking like he's a noob... I checked his rating was 1800 before he lost.

He is a noob... >.> he made so many fail mistakes (that luckily for him, you didn't take advantage of).

Ahem, rating isn't always accurate. Anyways, examples of his mistakes: he massed miners after you got the middle, with only 1 castle archer as defense. Either get speartons or ghost. (you made the mistake of not scouting earlier, so you didn't know he was massing miners)

Alright, this is seriously what I'm resorting to. This is my other test account :P so I was testing something. But still... I need help. You'll see when you view the replay.

Hi. I'm not great, but I'll try to comment anyway.
As far as I can see, the early game didn't go so well. The guy chose a sucky opening (3 miners? really?), but if you pay attention, he bought that castle archer right when he saw your little red dot of an archer on the radar. Ten seconds later, it dies. When you go to rush with your archer, be more cautious. Once the miners have garrisoned, keep your distance; you've already accomplished some degree of economic suffocation, so no need for your low-health + high-range unit to go running up to the statue. This way, if he gets a castle archer, you can get your archer out of there before it dies.
Anyway, after that small struggle, he comes out victorious because he massed miners; he has more miners than you, his defense can rip your early-game units to shreds, and he's ready to pump out some swordwrath to maul that weak hold you have on the tower.
This is where you get lucky. Your opponent happened to be a giant masser (and a bad one at that). What he tried to do was spam miners, then spam giants. What he SHOULD have done was counterattack for the tower and suffocate your economy (you don't have a castle archer, so he can use swords to harass, whereas you cannot). Instead, he massed miners, but set more on praying in an attempt to get the growth upgrades as fast as possible. This allowed for your economy to catch up and overwhelm his; hence, you won.
As for overall advice, I would recommend scouting. More information = more knowledge = easier victory. A little prophylaxis can go a long way: predict what units he is going to make and counter them before he has a chance to make them. Here's how I think when I scout:
Look to his miners. A lot of them are praying, why? He has no military units out to defend, why? (actually, the question should more be "why aren't you harassing him with speartons", but anyway) If he he's not sending out units, but he has a crapton of miners both mining and praying, what is he waiting on? Perhaps he's trying to build giants? But then what are the praying miners for? Perhaps he's shooting for the growth upgrades/tower spawn? How to counter pure giants? Why, speartons and Shinobi 2, of course!
The ability to foresee your opponent's intentions makes it very hard for him to win.

Not a bad explanation (i didnt watch the replay, busy) but the last part, speartons and shinobi 2 counter mass giants? It wont work if the guy had 11 giants.

It works for me against giant massers. Ninja does the damage, speartons tank and shield the ninjas, wait for Shinobi to cool down, rinse and repeat.
Haha well of course it wouldn't work against 11 giants. Honestly, you must have gone to take a walk or something and come back if you let the guy get that many undisturbed.
I feel like *nothing* could really counter that successfully. Not sure though, I've never been in a situation quite that bad.

11 giants... well, if you had the center, ghost spawn 2 would help. Also, get a few magikill, few giants, 1-2 ninjas (to do massive damage, and most likely die after), and a bunch of albows (mass damage)

Just don't screw your economy like he did.

Hm, no micro, your swords would die. With micro, I suppose it would be a close call.

I played him once. I don't remember if I beat him or not (Probably did). The interesting fact is that my name is Quan (his ign was fuquanr), and when I asked what his ign meant he decided to be rude and tell me "your mom"! Nice vid though.

This is just a little experiment of giant massing. (first time trying out) My opponent wasn't very good though...
