For a while now I have been using a bamboo pen and touch. Soo I was just curious to know if anyone one stickpage animated with a cintiq tablet and how is the difference. Is it faster to animated or just simpler. As of right now I can't afford one and I'm planning to get a job but school and programs take up my time.please reply.

A cintiq is a VERY high-dollar graphics tablet for professional artists that wish to work on computer drawing/animation in a more comfortable way using a device that emulates traditional pen-and-paper.
But for stuff like this website, things that are just a hobby and generate little to no revenue for you as an individual, I thin a bamboo pen and touch works just fine.
Yours is very simple and nice, it's good for little things like stick figure animation.
So like, if you're looking to pursue animation as a career you should MAYBE look into buying one. MAYBE. But if this is just a hobby for you, I'd advise against it.

I also do not suggest buying a $2000 tablet for stickfigure animation. It would be nice though.

Unless you expect to make money from it, don't spend that much on such a thing. Save up for college.

The newer models are actually $3000.

If you have the money and you're looking into following animation as a career path, it may be wise to invest in an Intuos.
They're made by wacom as well, they're like the midpoint between the quality of the cintiq and the quality of the bamboo tablets.
I personally own one, and I love it. It's very comfortable and easy to use.
A Medium model Intuos4 runs about $250-300 new nowadays I believe (new or used they work pretty well, I bought mine pre-owned and it works perfect), and that's really about as big a tablet as you'll need.

But the visual where I can see the display would help me so much instead of looking at the pc and drawing elsewhere. It would be like drawing on paper. Then eventually when I get comfortable ill be up there with terkoiz.. Lol

Do not buy one now, especially if you're going to use it for stickmen.

Not just for stockmen animation althought this online community has inspired me greatly but as a career and to get ahold of the professional tools. Then I can start doing things with maya and zbrush and other animating software and become a little more know. Plus if I do get one I'm not gonna get a supper ridiculous priced one.. I'll just get the older one ( cintiq 12)

2 Questions:
How old are you?
Do you need a tablet for maya?

I have 8 of them, one for every day of the week so I don't wear them out too quickly, and the 8th sits in my ferrari so I can animate on the go

Hey Jeff., I'm 16.. I know I'm young but I bet there are kids out there even younger then me that are thinking about upgrading too. And for maya you can use a pen and touch or Intuos but the visual display of the cintiq would make the process faster.
