STARTER GUIDE
The beginning is key. You need to win the beginning to win the later game. So basically, on longer maps, attack with a Spearton. I know this doesn't always work but for now it does. Kill his miners. CONTINUE to do so. Keep pressuring him. Actually in this game, my opponent stood no chance, probably why he called me a prick at the end. Anyways, watch it.

Quick Spearton is one of the worst starting strategies ever. Even on Grass Hills, I could beat it easily.
I can just kite until I have 3 swords with rage, and pwn your Spearton's backside. The obvious problems are :
High Cost
Venerable to Swarms
Once it dies, you've just lost all of your starting money and a few seconds that could be used for mining. I recently stopped spear massing lately, and with good reason.

Well, most players don't start off with 3 SwordWrath anyways, and for my current rating it is perfectly fine. Also, Rage and 3 SwordWrath take more time than 1 Spearton to load.
This is what I usually do for everything except Grass Hills.

Why would you teach beginners how to play with a plan that in the long run is doomed to fail?

... So I can beat them when they get to my level. I'm just kidding I would never do such a thing :)
Anyways, the Spearton Rush sometimes DOES work although I'm just posting this as an example. This one... http://pastebin.com/f2ufgHME may be more suited for beginners.

It MIGHT be able to win, but not against me. Heck, even starting with a castle archer is better than this.

Aiman, you say that because you do start with a castle archer :p
But anyways, I GOT A++ and A- (rated by wyzdm on microing skills, oops this is offtopic)
About spearton rush, this will fail as you go higher in the rankings, it might work at whatever rating your re now, but be prepared to change it later. Also, what do you do in small maps?

1 SwordWrath, 2 for castle. Later I get Rage/Spearton and some Allbowtrosses. Then finally Giants to finish off my opponents.

Rofl you start with 1 sword - 2 swords? (depending on map size) Well, for both map sizes I would get the middle.
Jan 30, 2013 11:04 PM #867503
You do Sword/Archidon? Let me tell you that I would get 2 Spearton before you got 4 miners.
Jan 30, 2013 11:05 PM #867505
Sure... I would get the middle, 3 miners, 4 swords and 1 archidon by the time you you get 2 speartons.

Target Archidon first, and Spearton are down maybe by 5/6 health. Really no competition against 4 SwordWrath, and Rage takes 60 sec to load.
Jan 30, 2013 11:25 PM #867532
Are you seriously thinking that my archidon would just stand and let you attack it? Also, i never mentioned rage.

Shadowy you would lose.
Target archidon -> archidon kites the shit out of you with 4 swordwrath at your back
Target swordwrath -> all units target one spearton, 1 swordwrath dies -> 3 swords + archer

First of all, it's two Spearton by the time you have 4 Swords and 1 Archidon.
Otherwise, with 1, it's 1 SwordWrath 1 Archidon. Also, the Spearton runs faster than the archer. I've tried it in practice, and it works.
