So yeah, I recently got this game called Chivalry.
I'v been waiting to see a proper first person medieval fighter for a long time. (Mount and blade was good, but there's a lot of room for improvement there, especially in terms of multiplayer.) The combat is a lot of fun in Chivalry, once you get the hang of it. I'd be cool if Bethesda made the combat system in the next Elder Scrolls game more like the combat in this.
So what is Chivalry? It's basically like a FPS like any other, (CoD, Battlefield, etc.) BUT in medieval times, with swords, shields, axes, bows, spears and so on.
It's heavily focused on multiplayer, and the game mechanics for close combat are pretty damn solid and require quite a bit of precision and timing from the player.
Other than the combat being totally different from FPS, it works pretty much identically to them in the general sense of: Select and join a server, different game types, (Like Free-for-all, Team death match and other various mission objectives) different classes and weapons, same basic controls like sprinting and so on. The graphics are pretty good in it too, so if your computer can't handle that very well, I'd suggest turning them down so that you don't get any frame rate lag, since accuracy is pretty important when it comes to combat. (I had to do it, seeing as I'm running it on a laptop.)
I'm currently playing the man-at-arms class for high mobility. Gets in combat quickly, does damage, gets out combat quickly.
Here's some gameplay for you to feast your eyes upon.
Gory.
Messy.
Fun.
And yeah, this video is ridiculous as fuck, but somehow entertaining. lmfao
So yeah, if anyone on SP plays, we shall meet on the battlefield and bathe in each others bodily fluids.
Eh, I'm talking about blood.
No homo.

I might try it if I get into computer gaming other than minecraft, lol.

I bought this game when it was still unreleased and in beta. I already loved it the first 5 minutes I played it, the combat is extremely brutal and the gore is fucking delicous. Plus, the character animations make it look really hilarious when you kill someone. I love this game, definitely recommended.

Too lazy to write a paragraph of thought out logical reasons as to why this game is fucking awesome. But i'll just say its extremely addictive. Not to mention creative and beautiful. Graphics are great and the controls are great. Mixing an FPS melee based game in such a way was a stroke of genius.

My friend has been talking about it a lot and I came up on Steam for a free weekend. I installed it and all but the game wouldn't come up. :(
