Not very fluid at all. Every movement in the rope should start as a wave and travel down the rope unless interacted with at a point. Here movement starts at the tip which is backwards.

i see what you mean crewKid with the rope ascending? it was originally going to be a character grabbing on then letting go. never got the character in though. the other cases i seemed to have started at the reaction point? tip, as it's where it's thrown by, and recoil from the bounce? idk i'll fuck with it some more. was doing this with a mouse at work so i only put in about half as many frames as i would have liked. thanks for the feedback

Needs a lot of work! the force is waaaayyyyy off! and it lasts too long upon impact. A whip hit happens instant, remember? :)

Even here the end behavior is way off. But I didn't want to work on that, Just wanted you to see the force build of the whip

okay i get you. mostly different from the starting position though. thanks for your time. flash bungled the fla though so i've got no interest in returning to that particular test

good point. i'm gonna do one that's more rigid i.e. vine-like. then i'm gonna do some super bouncy ropes like noodles. i see those 2 coming in handy more than the rest
