You don't need flash 8 to compete by any means. If you want to be a part of the collaboration (which most likely wont happen honestly) then you need to meet those requirements. You could use pivot for this competition if you really wanted. Its just a generic competition :3

Most likely.
The judges will pick your score not only by animation quality but creativity.

You will be judged on the overall effort and on overall animation skill, so if stone randomly decides to join, well, then we are all fucked. It will be fair judgment though so don't worry, just do your best and hope you get a high score :)
