View Profile In terms of governments going tyrannical, I don't think it's a concern if you're replacing your leaders regularly like the US does.
There isn't a maximum number of terms a congressman can serve, and that's where the vast majority of important legislation stems from.

View Profile Are there any historical examples of a tyrannical regime arising from such a large number of people? I can see how, with no maximum term, scores of powerful people could vote in favour of highly amoral legislature, but even a hundred people going rogue isn't enough to pass a bill at that level. To my knowledge, people going mad with power only ever happens when there are less than a dozen people at the top.

It's actually a republic by the way. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
