well, you guys are probably right about creativity, fun, enjoyment...
but did you forget about what always happens when doing these competitions?
many people start doing it, but then they get discouraged, they know they're competing against better people and that there are high probalities their animations will be never shown and so they drop out
of the few who still remain, the ones who are better get their places, while the others remain there with the "at least I partecipated" morality (which doesn't help improving at all)
if you want to encourage people, sure, the music video idea is good, but there are more possibilities that people drop out or that they'll dislike, in the end, the competition itself, thus not being encouraged at all
now let's talk about the RHG
if you noticed, on the days it was on, there was almost no forfeit or unfinished
sure, some of the anims weren't so good, but for someone finishing a full anim boosts his/her confidence, thus giving a meaning to the time they spent on it
