Went playing a few games and I've encountered some wicked problems. I know Nrgfa is now crim, and I'm accustomed to unit delay with him, but playing against corps and having the same problem accompanied with miss-queues (clicking a unit, purchasing wrong unit, struggling trying to cancel said mistake, waiting ages, not responding, etc) is tearing me up.
I know there are hotkeys for commands, and I do use some, but I also overlap with the mouse control quite frequently. I notice the more mouse control I use in laggy circumstances, the worse my command reaction timing is. Is this going to be looked at? I've never issues this bad, more so with players from my own timezone like corps.
This isn't a rage thread, but a concern thread. Losing is nothing to be ashamed about. It's only frustrating when in the back of your mind you feel that you should have been able to do more while circumstances out of your control prevent that.
Lag recently?

It won't even let play a match.

The lag is quite disturbing. My albas got electric walled to death because of lag. Their reaction was too slow too evade it.

I have lost many a match where my wings are pwning the statue and I suddenly lag out. Why is all this lag suddenly here?

Same.
Azxc once played with me, and MY lag actually able to disrupt his gameplay.
Also it's so lag, that swordwraths need 1 sec to rage after being clicked.

Ah, that explains why he's a good player - he's not a new good player, just the same good player with a different hat on.Quote from WyzDM

Yesterday, I got a magikill queued and didnt notice till it was built. I was clicking a giant to tank, and assumed I'd clicked wrong.
but playing against corps and having the same problem accompanied with miss-queues (clicking a unit, purchasing wrong unit, struggling trying to cancel said mistake, waiting ages, not responding, etc) is tearing me up.
Then I got a second magikill, right after the first. I assumed it was just my incompetence, to do the same mis-click twice in a row. Obviously my 2 mages with no tanks didnt last so long. :/
Maybe I wasnt quite so dumb, it could well be this lag induced mis-queue you speak of. I was pretty pissed of to lose the game, but more pissed at myself for repeating the same mistake. Looks like I have a good excuse, I'll blame lag induced mis-queues :)

Seems there is lag, I lagged a bit yesterday on my desktop, and my desktop never lags! I'll see if my laptop lags or not either.

yeah every time i play and i click on a crawler, a miner starts to build up. This kills my game because not only i have to cancel the unit but need to be aware of the dangers with my other units.

Hi,
We can't do anything about users with high pings. But we can do things to improve the user interface so that it is more responsive when playing against laggy opponents.
Note, there are two types of lag.
The first is simply a high ping. This just means that your actions will be delayed proportional to largest ping of the two players.
The second type of lag is when a player with a slower computer can not keep up with 30FPS and therefore the faster computer must wait occasionally for them to catch up in the simulation. This will cause jitters and is the more unpleasant type of lag. Currently when this occurs we do not process some user interface elements. I think this is what is causing your trouble when clicking on the user interface and issuing commands.
I plan on updating this sometime in the next few weeks. I would do it sooner but I have to divert my attention to hackers for now. A fix for the recent message hack should be up late tonight. I will be intercepting these messages on the server side and flagging users who do this as hackers.

Awesome! That would reduce the lag problems a bit, and less exploiters right? But are you just going to "Flag" them, or actually IP Ban them?
Mar 2, 2013 9:57 PM #902201
We are flagging them for now. And I will set up a banning interface so Crazy Jay can decide what to do with them. I heard he likes to ban.
i.e. Banning starts tomorrow.

Alright! Good to know. And a bit scary with the CJ part, lol.
