Hey guys, I was in a very nostalgic mood today and I couldn't stop thinking about all the animation communities that were out there, whether it was in the past or whether it still exists and it brought me to this question right 'ere. In all the time you've been animating/hanging out at different flash animation websites, at which one did you have the most fun? Your choice may be based upon any of the variety of things like members, content, competitions, collabs, and just plain awesomeness in general. You could also include the factor of it making you into who you are as an animator today.

My choice (which you probably don't care about but anyway):
There was one website that hasn't left my heart and soul at all. Yep, Fluidanims.com. I've never been too serious around any online communities ('cept for DA) but this one family that I had the honor of being a part of has stuck with me since the day I first went on it. Somehow I got emotionally attached to it, and yes, I didn't freaking have a life when I started to hang out on it (you know, the first few days to a week). There was something so magical about it that I just couldn't put my finger on. Everyday I used to check on it at least 50 times and I practically spent all my free time just reading through thread after thread in nearly all of the forum sections. And the community was just the most epic EVER, the mods weren't dicks like on some other sites (relax, I'm not hinting at SP), the members were sensible and down to earth while still having a fun side, the collabs and competitions were like none other (I'm not in the slightest exaggerating) and the portal was THE best with plain awesome written all over it. I don't think any community (let alone a flash animation one) can ever ever can be better than what Fluidanims was like - at least for me.
Go for it!

Definitely this one, I've met a shit ton of really cool people and my best relationship is all due to being on this website at the right time. My opinion's pretty biased because I've barely been on any other forums and when I was I was just a cunt to everyone.

StickPage, the first forum I entered. And the most dedicated one.

Fluidanims. It's where I started, had a great community, animators, fun events and what not, you know, so that it actually felt like an animation community and not just a place for people to chat.
SPs only starting to become like this thanks to stone.

I just realized shiftlimits is gone again. Sad, that was like the only time I finally got to see those old timers I've only heard about.

Probably DoodleMate, but it's long gone now, it never really took off but the core members were pretty cool people.
Also, Shiftlimits had a pretty cool community, never really paid attention to it or considered joining them before it was to late.
Stickpage is looking way better then I initially thought. I had always been pushed towards the conclusion that this was a near-death community where everyone was a total dick. I guess the former used to be true, but the latter was pretty far off lol.

Fluidanims, duh.

It's where I started as an animator, and have met many great people with many great opportunities. It's just the best. It's sad to see it go, but it'll never be forgotten.

I also remember that I became well-known for my RHG and wRHGs (Todesberührung and Bloody Nina). Though they weren't as famous, but a lot of people seem to remember them, which brings a smile to my face.

It's where Eternity was born, and I was the 6th member to fill the spot. We were the underdogs in the RHG clan community, and we're still holding on to this day, thanks to Flawchy, Flashwire, lenege4, Doop, Nato, Smoke23 (once Warp23), Gaaading, and Kai Kai.

Newgrounds and Hatena were my favourites; NG for productivity, HT for user friendly interface.
I guess Fluidanims is good for spawning an aspiring community, darkdemon as well.
Stickpage is at the bottom of the chain for reasons that should be apparently obvious.

DoodleMate hands down, it was a small community, which made it great in its own way :]

Fluidanims and Hatena were my favorite communities. Fluidanims is where I started in the world of animation, while Hatena is where I had the chance to meet new people and progress in animation skill.

The people I talked to on Hatena may not have been the most skilled, it's still a cool friendly place for newcomers and experienced animators and artists alike.

madnesscombat.net

it stopped being about animation a long time ago and turned into a chill zone where people animate occasionally
