Recently I heard my friends talking about a second season to Sword Art Online. (Yes, the one with Kirito)
So I am not sure if this is real or not, but I have found some pictures regarding it.

Image

This is not my picture, I just found it on bing images

Now this second season is supposedly called Gun Gale Online.
It will be mainly about guns; hence the title

Now here is some info I found on it
(Note: I just copied and pasted what a buddy of mine sent me through email and posted here for you guys.)

«Gun Gale Online» (ガンゲイル・オンライン Gangeiru Onrain) is an American made VRMMOFPS that emphasizes on gun usage. It utilizes FullDive technology to set players inside a post apocalyptic world situated in a spaceship. It is the setting for Sword Art Online light novel volumes 5 and 6. One of the main events in GGO is the multi-player versus player tournament known as the Bullet of Bullets.

The basis of gameplay is on increasing levels which in turn increase stats which are increased based on player's choices. These stats determine how a character plays and operates in the game, the interval selection can not be altered later, so players must know how they wish to develop in long-term. Also, in place of guilds and parties it uses a squadron-type team play.

AGI (Agility) - determines movement speed of a character
VIT (Vitality) - determines health of a character
DEX (Dexterity) - determines accuracy of a player and ability to hit targets
STR (Strength) - determines the carrying capacity and ability to wield certain guns
DEF (Defense) - determines the defense of a player

So post your comments and opinions on this. If you have any further information on this, feel free to post here.

This is basically a general discussion on SAO and it's possible season 2

Because of the first season and how badly they fucked up something that could have been so amazing, my expectations are low, very low. So low in fact that I think it would be impossible disappoint me. One thing that they better do is dedicate 24 eps to one arc and fix the pacing.
They should probably introduce characters who are actually interesting, or somehow fix their fuck up and make some existing characters interesting, but no, we can't have a supporting female role have more than one episode. God help me, but if one more stupid girl drops her panties as soon as Kirito walks into the room, I will turn into a full on hater.

@jelly the series is based on a light novel just in case you didn't know.
I can see your point though, the episodes are alright in the beginning but as the end of one arc closes, I notice the quality dropping, especially the animations, you notice how greatly animated Kirito's fight with the Guardians was and how bad his duel with
Spoiler (Click to Show)
episode even the supposed final battle, I was hoping to have more than Kirito struggling and after a few moments of getting 'satisfying' vengeance I had hoped for a great fight scene.

Note: There weren't any female support characters in the second arc except Sakuya and that Cait Sith girl, but they weren't necessarily dropping panties or anything.

I still like the series ._.

I did know it was a light novel. And I think most of my problems stem from a dodgy adaption in trying to condense to much into 24 episodes. But I haven't read it, so I'll never know.
I think your forgetting his sister lol, but your right, at the end of the day I'm just pissy because the first few episodes promised me an action romance, and then turned around and threw stereotyped heroines at me (even that fucking incest shit, that everyone knows will never go anywhere...) for no other reason than fan-service and making sure every males preference is met. But I digress. None of what I said make it 'bad', just disappointing for me.
But yeah, I will defiantly watch a second season, its just that its going to take a miracle to make me a fanboy while only a slight push to make me a hater. The best thing I can see coming from SAO is that it can show studios that gaming anime can be rather popular, and hopefully inspire similar but better anime (I haven't seen Btooom).
Wheres my Accel World season 2!?

Honestly, I don't mind if Season 2 of SAO came out. The first few episodes of the first season showed me what looked like a very promising anime, but you could really see the writing quality drop as the relationship between Kirito and Asuna built up.

It's hard to take the deaths of any of the players seriously when they haven't had enough screeentime to really develop thoughts for them, and the relationship between Kirito and Asuna didn't feel real, especially when they had gotten married so quickly. I didn't like how the dates were dropped all over the place. But the animation was impressive, especially during the boss battles.

I'm not too excited about Season 2 in itself, but I don't mind watching it.

^ This.

Another thing we should note is that SAO and Accel World was made by THE SAME GROUP or perhaps it was made by the same novelist, but was animated by different companies, which would make sense, it was only the writers of SAO's animation group that messed things up. I can also see some art similarities between SAO and an anime called Guilty Crown, which also started as a light novel before being adapted into an anime, and I could notice the dip in quality of writing after the first 14 or so episodes, but maybe thats just because it was the plot of the novel anyway, the ending was not favored by me.

Whatever animation company that is, they still make pretty good OSTs though.

I have read through the light novel, just waiting for Alicization to update.

Jellyfish, I advise if you don't wanna see more panties dropping (literally), dont watch season 2. Because its full of it (not really)

I mean what season 2 do you mean? Since I'm not really sure if they would go directly to the GGO arc or would go for Mother's Rosario first.

I think they will go GGO first because the novel starts with GGO first. But you never know.
