I'll make this brief due to my hand hindering my typing speed. -.- But I had to post this.

Topic of Discussion:Have you or a friend ever hacked anything? If so did it go completely out of control?

A kid at our school who's a close friend of mine went internet searching, and got a hack program for Novell: The client that manages our school network. He got into the system, got our Assistant Principals Password, and had some fun. I witnessed him log in under our principals user name, and check out our new camera system. (The one kids bitched about at my school?) We witnessed recorded fights, and confrontations. I asked him how he did it, him being the dick he is, refused to let me in on it.

I'm SOOO glad he was a dick and didn't let me in on it!

The next day I heard the news. The fucker got CAUGHT!!! He stayed after school to show the media club (cool club btw. :p) his new hacking program toy. He gave it to two friends. One friend gave it to multiple people. The other came into school thursday and:
-went into class
-turned on the computer
-told EVERYBODY to check out some fights on the camera systems
-gets caught by a teacher without difficulty
-blabs that all the media club knows about it and he got it from the kid.

All three of them are in the deepest shit ever. I hope the kid who gave out the program comes back next year, but he really deserved it. All of them are likely to be fined. The kid who blabbed is a senior who is not graduating now, The kid who gave the program out is expelled from this year, likely next year, and likely fined ungenerously, and the third kid who gave the program to a few other kids is in a bit of trouble. He god suspended or something.

If someone leaks that I've seen this happen and didn't tell an administrator, I may get in some deep shit as well. Maybe a suspension, a detention, or even a fine or something.

Either way it was fucking awesome. He had access to addresses, phone numbers, loads of common personal information, passwords, Social Security numbers, and health information to EVERY student, EVERY teacher, and EVERY administrator. He could have fired his own mother who worked as a school substitute!!

He worked like a fucking idiot, though. He used a public computer in the school, using HIS log in name, to hack in the website, and was tracked the whole time. I was surprised he wasn't caught sooner, but it was bound to happen.

Sucks for those three. :P

Edit: Lol!!!! The school's machine just called me asking if I got a letter concerning computer security!! When I got the letter I was amazed that he made such an impact on the school, but calling to make sure we got it!? This went insane!



Edit 2!!: Rather Cheesy brought up a good point that it would be a bit unfair to expell one for looking at fight videos. I got tired of typing yesterday, so to clear a thing up about that, here's an extreme thing he did with me:

Jon (The Kid's name): Hay marc (My name) gimme your ID Number.
Me: How would I profit from this?
Jon: Just give it to me, I want to show you something
Me: Why would I give a person with account-domination power my ID?
Jon: If you don't tell me, I'll find out on my own. You would just save me some trouble here.

So clearly, he had access to a lot of information that the school does not want revealed about every student. He can still access it f he can access the Novell Network, so I'm sure after the hearing, he will have much more shit on his plate. I do feel sorry for him, because he never meant any harm... I was involved, apparently, and they may track it to me getting in trouble for not telling, so he may have pulled me into some shit, which sucks.

I don't see what the big deal is of him hacking in so long as he didn't screw things up and didn't invade anyones privacy. If all he did was watch those recorded fights and stuff then isn't expelling him a little to harsh? A suspension I could see but expelling is to much.


I've never really hacked anything like that before. Though I probably would if I had the means just cause I find things like that fun. The closest thing I've done was figure out the password to a friends computer and pull a couple harmless pranks on him. [switching desktops and such].

Not really hacking, but a similar thing happened at our school. I started this thing where you use the shutdown -i command to turn off other people's computers, and soon enough everyone was using it and a couple of people were eventually given suspensions.

They weren't rats though, so they didn't tell anything about where they learned it.

Unfortunately, as a result, you can no longer open batch files at school.

I was on the verge of doing that but never did. I did use the lol.bat forkbomb thing though. Disguised it as Internet Explorer, lmao. I also saved an MSPaint picture that said "Penis :P" in our school's server. I got 3 days of detention.

Some kid back in my seventh grade class tought me that, awhile back. I got pist, because I was writing a report, then he shuts off my computer. I had to redo all of my work =[ But yup, it is an awesome trick.

i went on my brother's laptop and put forkbombs disguised as every single option on his desktop. I guess he figured it out after a while, and i didn't know how to hack the start menu, so he just doesn't use the desktop.

Also my friend hacked WOW and he could fly and teleport and kill mods, so they had to send in an admin to shut him down. It was hilarious. He just casted one spell and turned everyone in the city into chickens. then when the mods came he'd just teleport to the other side of the world.

Well, the main problem was that he was exposed to everyone's personal information, and had the "knowledge" to do it again. He just hacked it to see if he could, and nothing else. I'm sure if he had proof of what he had actually done, like some superb tracking, he could be off the hook.

I was getting tired of typing yesterday, so I put a note up there elaborating with my experience at the bottom of the post. Maybe it would be a bit more revealing as to why he would be expelled if they had proof of what he had done.

In our school, all the computer moniters change direction by CTRL+ALT+Direction. None of the teachers know how to fix it. It is hilarious. Do it at the end of the day, when the computers are shut down, the next morning the teacher flips out, and they can't figure out who did it.

That's not hacking, thats just being a dick.
