Pope-mobile used to be of particular use in Northern Ireland and Middle Eastern countries because of the contempt of which the pope was met. I amn't sure whether or not if ever actually came into use, but here in Ireland one guy bought a pope-mobile and is selling rides in it for fun. I have to contact him some time...
Catholicism isn't anywhere near what it used to be. The Second Vatican Council which happened a few years ago brought it pretty up-to-speed on current events and it isn't AS corrupt as it used to be. It is still pretty damn bad though. On the bright side, the new pope is a Jesuit, which is good news for everybody.

This pope didn't even use the Popemobile(I think), he wanted to be humble. It was either the Popemobile, or, some official Limo that he refused to use.
