Bass guitar for about two years.. started on a 4 string Fender Squire P-bass and now I also have a 5 string and the brand is Douglas which I thought was cool since thats my name :D

And I used to play on a fender 15 watt amp but now I own a behringer 300 watt combo amp =D

EDIT: And I'm self taught... rather poorly.. which means I should probably be better than I am right now =/

I'm the best trumpet player in my school (first chair symphonic band), and I just recently learned I'm still using a beginner's level mouthpiece, which means I'm playing better than people with better quality instruments using one that wasn't even designed to play what we play.

Messing around with keyboards/pianos for 5 years made me a somewhat decent piano player, but I very rarely play anything technical. I know how to play the flute, clarinet, saxophone and trombone but never do, and I'm learning how to play the guitar this summer.

Cool, in no time you can become a one-man band.

I've been playing piano for about 7 years now, but i've been playing casually (not more than 20 minutes of practice a day) up until about 2 months ago, so i'm behind for the amount of time i've been playing. I played trumpet for 3 years, but i quit. I've been thinking of picking up saxophone or trumpet again.

I played piano from when I was like, 5 to ten, and I've played alto saxophone since fifth grade, so six years.

I've been playing the drums for about half a year now, but I learned rather fast. I own an old, fucked up drumkit with No-Name cymbals, but it's good for practice.

Lol. I remember when you were so excited about getting that kit from your dads friend or something and now your talking about it like it is a pile of dog crap.

Well I have been playing Oboe since 6th grade. Im first chair symphonic band now. Since I'm in band I had to do marching band, and you can't march with an oboe. So I guess I picked up a little percussion. I play in the city band with my oboe and we get paid for that. So with the money I get at the end of summer with that, I plan on buying a guitar since I'm a beast on GH3. Hopefully I can selfteach myself because I have a background in music and GH.

Having general musical knowledge and how to read music might help you out a bit, but don't expect Guitar Hero to help you at all.

GH3 has nothing to do with guitar playing. My friend plays guitar beautifully and sucks balls at GH3 so don't expect any correlation.
