Hi reader,

Wait... Speartons are kind of useless in SW... they can't tank damage much, they do same damage as Swordwrath and they're more expensive.
Can you tell me how to use them well and when to get them?

Useless!? Without them, I would never succed in beating SW1 on insane.

1 spearton to tank archidons, the rest swords :)

yes, speartons dont tank as much damage and yes, they are expensive, but...

A good tactic i often use, is actually very straight forward.
as you know, you need about 3 sword to kill one spearton. if your enemy has a large army of swordwrath, i suggest the following:
-6 speartons
-6 archidons behind them
-1-3 merics
-any other units

the speartons will tank the damage, constantly being healed by a meric. the archidons will do the real damage in their numbers, and unless your enemy also has a lot of speartons, you will deal great damage.

they are also very useful against giants from order (chaos ones too, but i have never fought them so that might not work out) as the giant has a slow attack and needs a lot of hits to kill a spearton. use archidons or other range units to finish off the giants, which, surrounded by speartons cant attack anything else.

No. That's only if you upgraded sword to max. Upgrade spear to max too.

So if you don't upgrade to max Spearton's damage is higher? But I upgraded Swordwrath to max (Only Sword, not food speed) and Spearton to max (Max everything) so yeah...

OH. I guess then you could do swordwrath instead. But the earlier levels when you get speartons and attack pertland. Speartons are gonna be used a lot. Speartons also still have a better armor, and can take several hits from a giant.

Me too. But if you upgrade them to max on everything, they become deadly.
