Yeah not too many people felt happy about the merge (from both websites that is-me included), but after a while I just accepted it and kinda moved on. What else could some small guy do with big daddies? It just added lots to the negatives, rather than the initial plan to make everything unified.

Oh hey, the merge wasn't really bad. Some of the FAgs are awesome and cool, but again. SOME. And the fact that pivot got kicked in the shit and pissed all over.

If it were handled better in terms of how the older members here were treated before the merge took place (rather than just being partially ignored [I think]), it all would have gone a lot smoother.
Quik bro clean out your inbox.
To add to the topic, I would say Stickpage is a nice place to just hang out, post random shit, get picked on and post more random shit that possibly would make it funny and not annoying the second time. "Wtf?" you ask? I don't know. I had to keep on topic lol.

Quote from MercuryTbh, a fuckface excuse for the old Fluidanims community. But yeah, Scarecrow said was I was partly thinking in that context.
EDIT: For the FA thing, I'm talking in terms of the members who moved, not ones that were already here.
Hahaha what. you guys are the community. If people abandoned the FA community because it had to relocate to another website (gasp, the horror!), apparently they didn't give much of a shit about it. Forget about them.
Any faults with the community at this point is your fault, and everyone else who thinks there's some inherent difference between FA and SP. It's just the website hosting the forum that you guys use to communicate with. If that is enough to damage the community, then you're not really much of a community IMO.

Lol excuse me, I was feeling a little nostalgic and I tend to get emotional when that happens. I didn't mean it so directly or so strongly, I just wish that some of the older FA members could've stayed behind. There were some really awesome people that left, which again, (going back to it) made me get all sad.

Speaking of that, it was pretty strange how WeiEn basically lost all connectivity to every single member of FA and disappeared like that. He hasn't shown his face since the mention of the merge. He was definitely one of our most loyal and valuable mods back over there.

Sorry, I just see a lot of angst from certain members (quik especially) and it's getting kind of old at this point. They tend to use these sort of threads as soapboxes to express it, so I figured you're doing the same thing by calling SP a "fuckface excuse of a community compared to FA".

Oh. Well I'm still not sorry.
Lol angst.

Who's asking for an apology?
I just think it's odd how you say:
..even though you've posted 28 times in the last week. I'm not even that active.
Snowman said he's not interested in the forum, and I can believe it, since he's never here and he's posted 56 times since the merge. You're pushing 2,000 posts, yet you still bitch about SP at every opportunity you get. Either you like it here or you don't, make up your fucking mind.

Well I kinda like here now. I've had a lot of funny moments and met a lot of new people, and I can see stone's efforts to make us feel like if we were at home, that makes me feel even better :3.

I miss him so much ;-;

After the merge, I sort of slowly lost interest in both SP and animation. Then I started playing Melee again. Then I got bored and decided to come back. And shit, a lot of things have changed.

5 years ago, I got interested in stick figures. Dunno why, not important. I started to get into Pivot, and started on my first ever crap animations (don't ask. I lost them all.). It was then that I realized that how much fun animating can be. You toil and sweat, try to make the movements smoother, and that surprise that you get when you actually pull off a really good sequence... it pays off a lot. The satisfaction that you get from viewing and reviewing an animation you just finished is... you get the point.
So naturally, I found out about the famous animators. I regularly viewed animations on Stickpage. However, I never registered then. I found Fluidanims instead, and I registered there. I got into the forums, chatted a ton with other people on the IRC channel, and most importantly, improved on my animation skills. At that time, I only recently got Flash, but am already getting the hang of the flexibility it provides you. Heck, my classmates (even those who despise me) were interested in my crap animations.
I was having a ton of fun on the forums as well. At that time, post-counts gives you rank, and I wanted those ranks. I only remember a few of the ranks available, like 'Fresh meat', 'FA Fanatic', 'Silver something-something', 'Gold something-something' etc. I remember I got up to the silver rank, but then I started doing something real stupid over the FA Minecraft Server suddenly not allowing cracked Minecraft players to play. So I complained about it, got a warning, and I got so worked up over that warning 'dirtying up my clean record' that I earned myself more warnings. Naturally, I got banned.
Then I found TheAnimPlanet. It's an animation community that used to be fairly active, and the famous animators also went there. I managed to survive there, until it DannyPlatinum took the site down.
Someone on IRC notified me of a 'loop competition' that was held at Stickpage. He told me that I could totally enter the competition with my run loop. So on that day, I registered on Stickpage and entered the competition. I lost, which was a tad disappointing, but then I realized that FA is merging with SP, so I got elated. I was thinking 'Finally! A new start!'.
It was indeed a new start for me. Heck! I even got on good terms with the moderator who banned me on FA!
Up to now, which has been more than a year since I registered to Stickpage, it still feels just like the old Fluidanims, except that the community is bigger. New 'fresh meat' appear every day, and old animators retire. I had long stopped focusing on my post-count.
To me, Stickpage is not just an animation community. It is not that a forum where I just go to have some entertainment.
Stickpage is a home.

First time in SP, I feel like a newb.
In the 1st month, I learned that I'm a brat.
2nd month, I become a tryhard.
3rd month, I removed my tryhardness.
4th month, I created a wRHG, which is pretty famous.
5th month, I learned half of thing needed in SP.
And after half a year, I just realized that there is too many idiots lurking in SP.
Although I've never been to FA, I think FA is much more peaceful rather here sitting with bunch of plebeians.
But I liked SP, and I enjoyed it.
