It's not that we don't have enough projects. When the merge happened this place was BOOMING with projects. What happened to them all? Lost interest. Lost activity. Gave up. The problem isn't the number of ongoing things to do, it's the discipline and culture to finish what we start and to realize that for something to happen it has to take a ridiculous amount of time and effort. I'm trying to get that message across by being stricter towards unfinished battles, at least. Then you got the new stuff introduced by the new mods to try and get some cohesiveness throughout the forum.

I guess another thing is that 80% of the FA peeps who've settled here are just lounging about in RHG sections and sometimes community anims and art. And even for the latter there isn't any serious tinkering save for the rare moments people cnc for real. Other than that it's just circlejerking mostly (sorry but that's the truth).

I didn't really know that as I left the animation scene for a while after FA was emptied mostly because of college. I appreciate what you are doing enforcing the rules on finishing battles, I also think some people only come on here to judge and criticize others on their *air quotes* shitty animations *air quotes*. You can only put someone down with so much negative comments before they shutdown and leave and just give up. Anyways not to get off topic here....

People should really stop lounging and start animating (side topic: I heard Arch-angel is working on something.....oh yes can't wait to see that). Also there is the issue of circle jerking, If you are telling someone they are good and awesome just because they are your friends or they are famous and you want to be friends, you are actually restricting them from improving and reaching their full potential because they'll think the way they are animating currently is boss or the best and just settle for that not knowing it's shit.

But I could be wrong ¬_¬

The reason you don't see me posting much is because my fingers are aimed at making frames! If we all do the same, we could make some magic! I try not to host to many things at once as to not overcrowd the situation. There has been many competitions and official site collabs and events. It's not up to me to force you to participate :P

I joined FA shortly before the merge and I didn't get to really settle and know people, but after the merge things were quite smooth for me but I don't know if it's because I didn't really know FA well. At the end of the day, there is no point in any of the admins, mods or member getting angry because the merge was simply a business decision and to CJ it's just about the money and we are all members and on the same both be it the admin, mods or members.

Think of it like this, if you were in CJ's shoes wouldn't you do anything you had to to say your website. Think about it, he probably didn't want to in the beginning but later down the line he probably saw it as a good investment opportunity and a way to bring the stick back to stickpage.

I rest my case. *drops gavel*

if i were in CJ's shoes i can tell you without a doubt that i would be more involved with and responsive towards the community

From a member stand point being a Solid member form FA The merge was hurtful to the community. The merge sent many of us running for the hills because we had all been to stick page before and hated the community there. I personally can understand the whole business side of it, But as a member nothing and i mean nothing has been the same since the merge. It has been a slow plodding along, it is mediocre, and the there is such a lack of motivation I find all around the community. At first i knew it was because of the merge that there was this sluggish lethargic hatred cloud floating around but to still see it means there is something else going on. I believe many of us just don't feel that real since of family anymore after the merge. It was like watching a close relative pass that kept the family glued together, or like watching a family tradition just fade into the background. Not something many of us appreciated.

However I do believe that there are people around the community that see a small light, xero, Drone, oxob, kizu, guz, just to name a few people who i have seen rise slowly from the ashes. I do not claim to know the community inside and out however I do know one thing FA runs in thier blood. When i say that i mean the sense of family and striving to always do better and be awesome. That's what FA was about. I think the merge has made this whole concept of stick animation just a gate way now, I don't believe it is taken as seriously as it once was....

Stone definitely has the right idea. Its just the way the forums have been going post merge... Well I don't really have to say the face of animation itself has changed.

The way I saw it, when the merged happened. Sure I was pissed, but I knew I couldn't really do much for the problem, because as Stone said it was way above normal members like us.
So of course like everyone else I went a long with it.

I feel at first the FA members didn't necessarily get the way SP worked, compared to FA (For the most part that is) so there was quite a bit of change that needed to happen in order for things to eventually work.

As SP vets have said, there was a maturity issue. Being that FA housed mostly adolescents, while SP was for older guys.
So of course there was a bit of growing up that needed to happen.
But in the end, whether you liked it or not. Things did change. Can't really say for the better, but it changed.

Now a days animation is just like, a thing for the "popular kids" per se, I can see people are intimidated by what people might think, if they try and be different. So people really just try and copy the mainstream style.
No one really tries to be creative anymore.
And the effects are ground shaking in my opinion.

Idk if anyone really got what I was trying to say there, but that's just my thoughts on the merge in general
Thanks for reading~

I think everyone is still obsessed with the idea that FA was the shit and will forever be the shit.
It honestly wasn't and the moderation team was biased as hell and sucked if you ask me.

FA had a very nice portal and people such as Terkoiz and Hyun drew in a lot of people. All we need is a portal and we will be in the same position FA was in pre-merge.
If you are unsatisfied with the community right now then blame yourselves because a lot of you are elitist douche-bags and biased as hell as well. I don't really remember anyone other than the obvious users who were here pre-merge. So in my eyes all of the members we have on the forums now are from FA or have joined post-merge so you're dealing with your own community minus a few forum features that everyone loved because then their little art shops and what have you would seem so much cooler because they would have a means to feel better than other members.

The merge was a good thing whether you want to believe it or not. Some of the details behind the scenes suck but it's life.

I'm going to end this post with, I can't wait to see what happens over at Hyunsdojo!

The one thing that I personally think was fucked about this merge is that thesaw would be the one playing with the legos behind the scenes, and not Jeff. (Let's face it, we all know jeff would build us a kick-ass lego fortress.)
Oh, and fuck vBulletin.
