Hello and welcome to the Greatest Stick Animator of All Time Poll. I was inspired by a recent poll by Guitar World about the Greatest Guitarist of All Time to start a similar one on StickPage.

Basically, what we're trying to find out, is who, out of all brilliant animators we've had over the years, we like the most. And I don't mean animators in the past couple of years. I'm talking archives! We will go back to the earliest creations on StickPage and even NewGrounds or other sites that may contain stick gems, if necessary.
Note: This is not a competition, it's just a poll. No new content whatsoever will be created for this.
Now let me explain this to you in detail, and don't worry, I will do the boring work... which I actually enjoy ;)
STEP 1:
Long story short, we will start by nominating the animators who will be taking part in this. You can nominate as many animators as you want. Just make sure they're really good. They have to be the kind of people who inspired other animators in their turn and they need to have at least one completed project. So you can't nominate your buddy who just hangs around doing tests. Just in case we haven't heard about this animator, which is entirely possible given the ammount of content out there, link us to one of his animations. Also, try to nominate someone that hasn't already been nominated. The number of nominations does not count as votes in any way.
I was thinking we should have 32 animators. I doubt we can find very important ones past that number. Besides, the next number would be 64 and that would just take too long. We will have a qualifications round poll after we've gathered more than 32 animators to decide who will be the final 32 to participate.
STEP 2:
I'll be keeping track of the poll results through a diagram that looks like this, except it has 32 partipants:

The contest will be knock-out tournament style, which means that if an animator loses, he's out, and if he wins, he moves on to the next stage.
Each animator will compete with only one other animator in each stage. We'll be posting the polls in the poll section and linking to them from here, so we don't make a mess out of the Main Section.
The reason why this thread will be here, however, is because Main is one of the most active sections on the site and I see this as an important event for our community. We should all participate in the voting process so the results are accurate.
STEP 3:
At the end of this we will certainly have our winner and... we have two possibilities in the meantime:
The first one and best would be to create new threads to decide between the defeated. These will run at the same time with the main competition. I strongly advise that we go with this one. I promise not to be lazy if we do. :)
So this means that, for example if we have a main competition that looks like this:
A vs B
.........A vs C
C vs D
..................C vs G -> C (winner)
E vs F
.........F vs G
G vs H
We will be running the following competitions on the side, at the same time with the main event:
2.2.... B vs D
..................B vs H -> B
.........E vs H
2.2.3. .........D vs E -> E
3.3 .............A vs F -> A
And the final rankings would be, from the first place to last:
C, G, A, F, B, H, E, D
The second one would be to create rankings by counting votes from the polls we already have. This, however, would be highly inaccurate and if you give it a bit of thought I'm sure you can figure out yourselves why... Yes, exactly, if you have Terkoiz against a rather average, but successful animator, you can't expect that animator to get a significant number of votes.
So, start nominating your favorite animators then stay tuned for the polls and let me take care of the technical business. Don't let the big thread discourage you. :)
If we get enough participation from you, the voters, we will kindly ask Stone if we can have an official News Announcement about the results on the front page of the site and make it official. And maybe it would be good to actually let the winner know about it, if he's still active, that is... :)
Also, bare in mind that we're not [SIZE=3]necessarily [SIZE=3]trying to find a[SIZE=3]n absolute and definitive best[SIZE=3] here, it's just [SIZE=3]for fun. In the end, [SIZE=3]we [SIZE=3]all have our prefe[SIZE=3]rences, but all things considered, there has to be [SIZE=3]one ani[SIZE=3]mator out there who has appealed to more of us than the others and I [SIZE=3]think it woul[SIZE=3]d[SIZE=3] be interesting to know who he is, after over[SIZE=3] a dec[SIZE=3]ad[SIZE=3]e of StickPage.
Oh, and here's an idea... if this all goes well, maybe we could e[SIZE=3]ven request [SIZE=3]a series page for the winner, unles[SIZE=3]s he doesn't have enough projects in the Stick[SIZE=3]Page [SIZE=3]archives or he already has a series page heheh...[SIZE=3] If that[SIZE=3]'s not possible, maybe just adverti[SIZE=3]se[SIZE=3] one of his old anims on front page.
