I dont think you have to do the electric wall right in front of the mage, just a few meters before the mage, and then you have probably the time for another spell.

The shadowraths? Yes, your right, since shinobie 2 doesnt make an instantkill to Marrow, Medusa, deads, Jugger and Giant. Only against bomber, miner and Crawler, but it isnt worth to attack bomber and crawler with shinobie 2. So shinobie 2 against Chaos is only good for killing miners, and since Chaos havent got walls, it is really effective. In order, you can kill many units with one shinobie 2 strike.

I wouldn't reccomend massing anything against anybody, it just doesn't help.
