I decided to do some stuff with Opencanvas instead of Photoshop.
OC is much easier and funnier, I approve of it.

I love this picture! Pictures involving the sky and balloons I really enjoy. I like how the clouds sort of open up? around the girl and the balloon and just the overall shape of the clouds. Sometimes having the focus of a picture being smack in the middle can be boring or cheesy, but imo the composition really works in this picture.
This sort of reminds of this picture I drew and sent to my older sister when I younger. I only got to see her maybe once a year because she moved out and I drew her a picture of a cat with a balloon tied around him, being lifted up through the sky. Sort of makes me want to reuse that old idea.

If I had to point anything weird out, it'd be her freakishly malnourished looking limbs, most noticeably her legs, but I bet if this was a really big project or something, you would have fixed that on your own. Also, I love how one leg is sort of bent with her foot angled downwards, and the other is just sort of drooping down. Looks good.

It may not have been your intent, but your picture gave me a warm nostalgic feeling and I'd like to thank you! :D

Btw, l i've never used OC before, Photoshop is confusing and I pretty much just use it to edit, otherwise I use SAI. How would you compare using OpenCanvas to SAI maybe? Or maybe some other differences with PS? Just curious.

Between Noodle and Shynzo, everyone's art looks like crap... Haha
Great Job Shynzo - it looks great. But what's with her legs? They seem... Skeletal-ish? They seem too skinny like she doesn't have a hip or something.

@Noodle: Hello there. I'm really glad you liked my picture and I thank you for your critic. :)

I could not really tell the differences between SAI and OC since I never used SAI in my entire life. But I can tell you a few dfferences between OC and PS I spotted:

(NOTE: I'm using the free version of OC, the 1.1 one. Some things might have changed since there are lots of other versions for sell which must be containing lots of other options.)

. PS is a much more complex software than OpenCanvas: editable brushes in PS are simple round ones in OC (the only thing editable is the size), layers have lots of options in PS while the ones in OC are the dumbest ones I've ever seen (that must be one of the major problem of the program), filters, etc. In OC, you keep it simple: brush, pencil, color picker, selection, line, zoom and hat's pretty much it. It's very easy to use.
. OC has got a very "traditional" feel to it: the colors are easilly blendable, just like real paint, which is not the case at all in PS.
. One really interesting option of OC is the function "online drawing", in which you can draw with someone else on the same canvas and at the same time. Note that this function is only available on the 1.1 version of OC.
. Finally, OC is free. Well, the old version of it is... But still: it's free. (free version is the 1.1).

Conclusion: OC is a great program for sketching, simple and confortable, but I'd say it would be better to use PS or an other software to make big precise projects. But you should really try it out!

Here are some more links if you decide to try it out:

That's it. Sorry if you find any mistake. Keep me informed if you like the program and do stuff with it. :D

See you around!

@ChamelNeon: Thank you too for your nice comment and yeah, I should have fixed the legs. :P

Nice style, it chills me.

But I believe ballons natural tendency is not towards a spherical shape, rather an oval or "eggish" shape.
Love the clouds, but on the top left the white curls you used to grade the color are quite noticable and take away all the chill realistic sense it had so far.
I have no problem with your skeletical human beings, she can be anorexic or whatever, but on her back foot, the fingers are so long!

Lol, hope you keep drawing :)

Mmh, now that you say it, the top left corner clouds are kinda bugging me...
I hope I'll keep painting as well, thanks! :D

So whimsical and perfect! What bothers me the most is where she's grabbing. It would make sense when she's grabbing the end of the string. If she's grabbing the base of the balloon and the string, it would be too heavy for the balloon to lift.
