I was bored, so I went to check up on the progress of the Halo film adaptation. After seeing that the Wikipedia article was downsized into a small section of the Halo article, I went to IMDB, and read a bit on another movie that Peter Jackson and Neil Blomkamp are doing called "District 9".

It's a sci-fi movie set in Africa that covers an alien invasion. It's been compared to Star Wars, and has a cast of unknown actors and writers.
This sounds very similar to Halo.

Could it be the Halo film undercover? This has been done before with other big films, most famously with Return of the Jedi, which was filmed under the name "Blue Harvest" to prevent people from walking onto the sets.

I'm not sure what to think. Any ideas?

Here's the IMDB page for District 9:

Agreement.

That seems pretty likely, Ash.

quatritto..?

Yeah, know about the blue harvest cover-up. It's effective isn't it? :') 'cause blue harvest.. that sounds so freaking boring! :p

It could be Halo-ish. The africa-bit could just be cover-up too. Aliens... mmm :-) Or they took Halo and put it on earth.

Depends, they could be completely lying about the storyline.

Zymn, you do realize that Halo 3 takes place on Earth.

Also, I made a mistake in saying that it takes place in Africa, they could very well not be filming on-location. What's interesting to note is that the description of "Reach", the place where the first Halo book takes place, is of deserts, jungle, and rivers. Basically, it's a planet-sized Africa. This means that they could very well be using it as a location to film a movie based on Halo: The Fall of Reach.

How the **** can you talk about a movie's quality when it hasn't even been released?

If you're not going to be constructive, then leave the thread.

Reach is pretty much Earth with different continental locations and names I'd say.
