CIEL
Basic Information
Age: 12
Height: 4’7
Weight: 77 lb.
Gender: M
Appearance
Ciel’s fashion sense can be deemed as somewhat ‘old-fashioned’. His slim frame is hidden underneath a baggy linen shirt, which he tucks into a pair of suspender-adjusted trousers. Over this he wears a simple cotton coat, which flares out at the thighs. A battered schoolboy cap hides his scruffy brown hair and pale, almost sickly complexion. His forget-me-not blue eyes bears the telltale twinkle of insatiable curiosity
Personality
Ciel is quiet spoken boy, only speaking as a last resort, or to people he cares deeply for. His quiet demeanor brings people to assume a shy personality, which is more or less true. Ciel finds it difficult expressing himself, and will often look away when during conversations, which people often mistake for discourtesy. Men scare him. Women terrify him.
Although Ciel rarely speaks, one can often guess his emotions from his face. Being a child, Ciel has a child’s temper. Though he will not react physically to verbal assault, his reddening face will be a dead giveaway, although Ciel will attempt to hide it underneath his cap.
What Ciel lacks in social skills, he makes up with his intellect. Though he is not a child prodigy, he is quite an intelligent child, and intuitive, too. He notices what would normally pass by an ordinary observer. Thus, he is extremely versatile and adaptable. Like all children his age, Ciel is curious, and is lead by his impulses, often leading him to tricky situations.
Ciel only will use his weapons (see Equipment) where it is not necessary. He will regard his opponent with wariness, prepared for anything, never letting his guard down. When facing an opponent, Ciel will try and use his opponent’s weaknesses to his advantage. Being physically weaker than most, Ciel will try keeping his distance from his enemy,
Story
Ciel’s father, the first Ciel, was an infamous assassin, widely feared and despised. He was responsible for the murders of many significant figures, and thus was ruthlessly hunted by authorities. But their search was in vain. They combed through the land in a fruitless attempt to find a man who didn’t officially exist. No papers, no birth certificates, no licenses, nothing. After many years of desperate searching, they finally turned to a veteran bounty hunter whose methods were as vehemently despised as Ciel himself.
A handsome price persuaded the hunter to find the man, dead or alive.
After many months of searching, the bounty hunter found and killed Ciel without hesitation, not knowing that the very man who murdered so many people had seen the wrong in his ways and had retired to a peaceful life. Only when the cries of a baby – awoken by the loud shots – were heard from the neighboring room did the hunter realize the terrible mistake he had made: Ciel was struggling to raise the boy after his mother had died during birth.
The bounty hunter was overwhelmed with heavy guilt. Feeling that the only way to compensate was to provide the boy a future himself, he took the child and hid himself away from civilization, for he knew that there, he would be lauded as a hero, a champion, when what he had really done was unforgiveable. He couldn’t, he wouldn’t, bear it.
So he christened the baby ‘Ciel’, after his father. He raised the child to the best of his ability, teaching him how to use firearms effectively. When the boy turned ten, he gifted him with a certain pistol; the size of which he decided was more suitable for Ciel than himself. Noting the child’s desire to become a hunter after him, he told the boy of ‘The Games’, where he had left unresolved grudges...
Abilities (and their weaknesses)
Dead Shot
Ciel is a dead shot; he can shoot with incredible accuracy, rivaling that of a sniper. He is able to shoot from various positions, and being ambidextrous, he can fire from both hands.
Dead Shot Weakness
Ciel lacks physical power, being a child. He cannot cope in close combat, and can easily be overpowered when facing a larger opponent in a small area.
Speed
He is faster than an average human, but not so much that it can be deemed as ‘super-speed’. He is very quick and agile on his feet, able to dodge projectiles such as kunai knives, but not bullets.
Reload
Ciel possesses the power to materialize fresh magazines into his hand, allowing him to reload faster. His gun does not necessarily have to be out of bullets for him to use this power.
Label Vision
Ciel’s eyes are different to that of a normal human in that he can visually label human individuals. He can attach and detach ‘labels’ at will. This ability is invaluable in battle as Ciel can immediately find his enemy should he/she be hiding (the label does not disappear even if the individual is out of sight).
Label Vision Weakness
Ciel’s label vision can be fooled with illusions or the like. After Ciel has ‘labeled’ his enemy, he gives him/her his undivided attention, thus leaving him vulnerable to attacks.
Equipment (and their weaknesses)
Pocket Pistol
His most prized possession is his modified pocket pistol, which he keeps holstered at his waist, underneath his coat. The pistol is indestructible, forged from materials yet unknown to man. Its sleek black sheen has a certain allure to it. It can propel bullets with a force which parallels that of a sniper rifle, while retaining minimal recoil. The bullets are indestructible and their trajectory cannot be redirected. Bizarrely, the pistol defects in the hands of anyone but its owner.
Pocket Pistol Weakness
Although the pistol would be useless in the hands of anyone but Ciel, simply disarming him could prove disastrous in a battle. Ciel is weaker in melee, and will easily be overpowered by a larger opponent if he is not armed. As well as this, limited hand co-ordination restricts Ciel from reloading while moving, leaving him vulnerable to attacks if he runs out of bullets in the open.
‘Proofed’ Clothing
Specific articles of Ciel’s clothing have undergone a process known as ‘proofing’, where they are drenched in a chemical compound that phenomenally increases their durability and their strength. The wearer of such clothing is guaranteed protection from bullets, knifes and the elements, although the force behind such projectiles can still cause injury. The articles of Ciel’s clothing that have been ‘proofed’ are his cap, his coat and his trousers.
'Proofed' Clothing Weakness
While the clothes are protective, they are quite restrictive in terms of mobility, being heavier than normal clothes. Ciel can only run as fast as an ordinary adult while wearing his ‘full kit’. When the clothes are drenched, they are much heavier.
