I decided to restart this project. Some of you may remember it from about a year ago.
Anonymous began "raiding" the online game "Habbo Hotel" ages ago. Raids still occur to this day, albeit on a smaller scale. These raids involved dressing as a black bouncer and standing in front of the game's swimming pools. The effect this had is that other players characters couldn't reach the pool to swim, and hilarity ensued as the more pathetic players tried to persuade the "pool blockers" to move.

Well, I have the basics of a story written out. It involves an ex-gang member named Jerome Hawkins who is hired by the FBI to investigate the recent outbreak of water-borne AIDS in the pool. The game progresses as he uncovers a vast conspiracy and attempts to kill those involved.
The game will have several different weapons, and will borrow graphics and locations straight from Habbo Hotel.
It will be an isometric shooter, and I am currently in the process of recruiting people on the GMC to begin work on the game.

I was just thinking about the combat thing, and thought of a very nice system to use. I have a game called Rebelstar: Tactical Commander, And it is basically the same look and feel of habbo hotel, but it's a shooter game. It has a take turns system. Liek when its your turn, you choose if you want to move or shoot or something, then theres a grid that shows up showing your range. Its a great concept.

Meh, I don't really want to use a turn-based combat system.

I've got to start getting into GM..
Does it use it's own code or C/C++ or AS or what?

it's got it's own code, but it's code has a flexible syntax, so you can write the same way one would write code in BASIC, C++, Delphi, etc.
Plus, you don't HAVE to write code. It has a "Drag and Drop" system that lets you use icons that represent lines of code so you don't have to memorize code to make games, though drag and drop doesn't have all the features of the code.
What's really great about GM is that you can start out learning to use the drag-and-drop, and since each drag and drop icon represents a line of Game Maker Language code (GML) you can move to GML easily.
