In this tutorial I will teach you how to make a simple five frame run with the line tool
I will delete this tutorial if necessary :P

here is the final result:
http://www.fileize.com/view/3dab31bc-400/
Notice
Notice that when the legs are crossing over to step forward, the arms move and cross in unison. This is something you must execute correctly.

Showing frame by frame
1. To start off, animate your stick figure in this position:
step 1 (Click to Show)

make sure to have the front leg bent downward and the back leg upright at close to a 90 degree angle.

2. Next, this position:
step 2 (Click to Show)

cross the legs

3. Next:
3 (Click to Show)

stretch out the back leg a bit as well as the front

4. Next:
4 (Click to Show)

make the back leg almost at the same angle as the back, with the front leg obtuse (losing it's tight angle)

5. Last but not least:
toast and cheese (Click to Show)

straighten the front leg a bit and point the front foot up-word. Put the back leg at a 90 degree angle

Things to remember:
Make sure that your feet don't point in random directions
Make sure to not stretch your legs out of proportion
Make sure to keep the back the same size and stable
Make sure to remember gravity; dose he look like he's floating?
Make sure to slow the movements a bit when the legs are spread

Check your progress:
Re-check all frames to see if you are happy with them:
slow mo (Click to Show)

Finished
your finished result should look something like this:
finished (Click to Show)

Now animate it! :D

Warning!

this run is best done at 18 to 20 fps. anything higher could ruin it D:

thanks for checking this out guys, hoped it helped!

Nice tut!
I'd suggest that you should've moved the back somehow, but good tutorial otherwise!

Thank you for this! It's helped me in completing my runs in my thing :O the leg coming up a little bit and it being in the air at the end of every stride is what was missing from mine.
