So you know how annoying it is when you look at the time and say, "Hey, I have time for 1 more game!" Then you start, and then you realize you don't. So I have a (semi) fair suggestion to help this.

How about if, before either side can see an opposing unit, the higher ranked player may abort the game, or in "even" matches, either player. The game will immediately end and there will be no lost rating. That way, if you ever realize you have to leave, at least you won't lose too much rating.

After that, during any point in the game, you may "Offer to Abort", which does not stop the game but simply pops up in the chat. If the opposing player agrees to abort, the game ends with no rating lost for either player. This may only be offered 3 times per game to stop abusement.

Good idea or no?

I love it, but why higher ranked players?

Lower ranked players like us have lives too you know. :D

The beggining one sounds kinda useless, as there is only a 5 second window to "realize that you have to go"

The other one could be possible, but mabye a small loss of rating to prevent two high level players from aborting if they are not sure of victory, and dont want to lose.

The abort system should work like this, the player who abort get no lost in rating but the other player will receive a victory, that will surely please everyone.

Like I said, This will probably be used by high level players who dont want to face the possibility of losing any rating.

remember the other player has to accept the end request and how can it be abused if the other opponent has to accept?

I can so see someone using it 3 times in tense moments to distract as a strategy.

two high ranked players are matched against each other. if you lose, you lose 20 rating. if you win you get five. both players decide not to take the chance, and try for lower ranked players, with less risk of losing. I'm not sure if those numbers are right, but apparantly the stakes are much highercat a higher rating

This doesn't make any sense, to be honest. If I was playing a favored opponent and I knew they could no longer finish the game, I'm going to do what I have to do to get their rating. Not everyone is kind on SE. Nobody would accept an abort.

Really this idea would just help people who boost eachothers ratings a lot easier

Im talking about hardly before the match even starts, both very high players decide the risk of losing many points is not worth the reward of getting a few. Im not sure, but how many points do you win or lose if you face someone at your rank?

When you are even, you will lose about 15 points or so

and im still with this.
i don't think this can be exploit as the ranking system will ultimately stop it (you cannot use alternative account to rank up forever and there come a point you lose horribly, plus with the current system, players can still exploit them by alt account but can you see it? no! by that i mean they can still use alt acc to rank up but toa certain point it stop...and without the needed skill, they fall.)
